Andrew Wiggins

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

No.

LeBron Durant Paul Davis Howard.

All but Durant are excellent defenders, but he's so good on the other end it doesn't matter.

Oh come on...I too think Anthony Davis is a budding superstar, but there's no way I'd consider him the 4th best player in the NBA right now. And Dwight Howard's impact has always been a bit overrated, and I think he's even declined a bit defensively. These last two seasons, he didn't make the All Defensive First OR Second team. I'd still consider him a top 10 player, but Melo is definitely ranked higher than him.

I know PER isn't the end all, be all, but Howard didn't even crack the top 20 in that category last year

chill...

Dwight is a much better player than Melo. Dwight is still elite even with a slight decline. Melo just led NY to the lottery in a historically weak east and has never accomplished what Howard did. Denver improved after Melo left for a reason while Orlando collapsed without Howard. Melo's scoring is also overrated and he is poor on defense.

I'd also take Duncan, Dirk, Noah, Love, Blake, over Melo as well. Cousins will pass Melo in the near future. Melo is flat out overrated.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

I've agreed with most of what you've said about Wiggins, but you're underrating what T-Mac did in his prime. The high end of your Wiggins projection is 23-7-3 with 3.5 steals + blocks a game. In 4 seasons in Orlando (his 21-24 years) McGrady averaged a 28-7-5 with a 2.5 steals + blocks a game. I don't see Wiggins being as injury prone as T-Mac, who never played in a full 82-game season during his entire 11-year career- but T-Mac with better defense is a ceiling for Wiggins.

Although I'd like to add T-Mac was only a 33.8% shooter from deep over his career- connecting on only 28% of his three pointers during his first three seasons in Toronto. Wiggins is going to easily top that over the next two years playing off Kyrie and LeBron.

How Wiggins can suprass T-Mac is if he puts up those type of numbers while having a huge impact on the defensive end and being more efficient offensively

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Don't know if this has been talked about. But has anyone noticed the lack of handles that Wiggins possesses? He can not take anyone of the dribble. He often gets his pockets picked or dribbles the ball off of his or the defenders foot. This is a serious problem. I really haven't seen handles this bad from a shooting guard or small forward of his stature. Does anyone else see this as a problem?

I heard somesuch thing about "Love handles", I think. It all runs together anymore ...Did you see we signed Mike Miller?!?!?

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

Once he gets the handle down, then he'll be fine. I would like to see a change of direction, of pace in him when dribbling the ball.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

To be completely honest, there's only 3 players in this league I would trade Wiggins for: Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, and Anthony Davis.

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

To be fair, Oladipo's handles weren't much better when he came into the league last year, and he still managed several big scoring outbursts.

I don't know about rankings, but I don't completely understand the hate Melo's game gets, not just here either. I feel like everyone is saying he's so overrated now and he has become kind of under appreciated a bit. I'm not trying to say he is the best player in the league or anything crazy but when his offense is going smoothly it is amazing to watch. His post-up game is great and this past year he shot 40% from 3 on 5.5 attempts per game. I know he is a volume scorer and so he is always going to get hate, but I like his complete offensive game. His teams have always been bad fits for his talent but I also do understand that is some of his own doing. The best player he ever played with (fit and talent-wise) was a deteriorating Chauncey Billups and that was a fun team to watch and he fit with him so well. Also the Nuggets got better when they traded him because the Knicks gave up their entire roster of promising players for him ending up with a very deep team (Masai doing work). The Knicks ended up with a much better record the following season they got Melo anyway, so it is kind of a moot point. In comparison to Dwight (feels super weird to compare these players), let's not act like those Magic teams weren't better constructed than almost all of Melo's teams in his career.

His supporting cast this past year was beyond useless and often injured, he has often had no choice but to be a volume scorer. You can definitely argue he isn't worth how much the Knicks are paying him now or that his efficiency could be better (his career TS% is historically far better than most volume scorers, very close to Kobe actually), but I just find him very fun to watch when he has it all going. His 62 in MSG was amazing because he got to 62 displaying everything in his offensive arsenal with only 10 fta and 6 3pm. There were still 7 minutes left in that game too.

This has nothing to do with Andrew Wiggins or the Cavs, please forgive me.

Melo top 15

Re: #1: Andrew Wiggins - G/F - Kansas University

If this is a troll, and I don't see how it couldn't be 10/10. Well done sir.

Thanks. Does anyone know what number lebron is going to be? I heard 23 but I'm not so sure. What r your thoughts? I mean I would like to see wiggins be 14 and lebron 9. So that adds up to 23. Which I believe Michael Jordan once wore. He won a bunch of championships so that means we will. Thoughts?

Hmm..

I don't see how Howard can justifiably be on any Top 5 list.
Anthony Davis will be better than Carmelo, but he's certainly not better than him today.

Poor kid. He just got into the NBA and he's already facing trade rumors. This quote does seem to add some validity to the rumors though.
