Annual RCF Rate My Team/Who to Play Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
When I said let's pull the trigger, he changed his mind.

Well that's a shame. You were about to trade rape him big time. You were going to sell him into trade sex slavery.

I like the trade Triple but you better damn hope Foster/Murray can stay healthy, or you might as well just bend over and spread em now.

I wouldn't of trusted Gore/T-Rich either, but you maybe need to pull off another minor trade involving Johnson or Patterson and a filler for a back-up RB or just keep an eye on that wire.

If your line-up stays healthy I see no reason why you won't be fighting for a championship.

Got two leagues. League 1 is obviously my priority, considering the buy-in is $230.

League 1- 10 team
1.(2)LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB)
2.(19)Zac Stacy (StL - RB)
3.(22)Antonio Brown (Pit - WR)
4.(39)Pierre Garcon (Was - WR)
5.(42)Ryan Mathews (SD - RB)
6.(59)Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
7.(62)Kyle Rudolph (Min - TE)
8.(79)Eric Decker (NYJ - WR)
9.(82)Brandin Cooks (NO - WR)
10.(99)San Francisco (SF - DEF)
11.(102)Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
12.(119)Knowshon Moreno (Mia - RB)
13.(122)Miles Austin (Cle - WR) (replaced with Pitt D)
14.(139)Dri Archer (Pit - RB) (replaced with K Robbie Gould)
15.(142)Steve Smith Sr. (Bal - WR) (replaced with WR Kelvin Benjamin)

Per usual in the 10 team league, I did not draft a kicker. Right after the draft, I picked up Kelvin Benjamin for Steve Smith and Robbie Gould for Dri Archer. I also dropped Miles Austin for Pitt D to stream against the Browns. I like the 9ers defense all season long, but I feel Pitt vs Cleve is a no-brainer for picks, fumbles and a defensive TD. If I can get 12-15 out of Pitt in game 1 I'll be quite happy. When the week is up, I'll drop Pitt D for Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory or Antonio Gates/Ladarius Green on waivers if any are available.

League 2- 14 team

1.(13)A.J. Green (Cin - WR)
2.(16)Montee Ball (Den - RB)
3.(41)Cordarrelle Patterson (Min - WR)
4.(44)Matt Ryan (Atl - QB)
5.(69)Jordan Cameron (Cle - TE)
6.(72)Eric Decker (NYJ - WR)
7.(97)Mike Evans (TB - WR)
8.(100)Carolina (Car - DEF)
9.(125)Andy Dalton (Cin - QB)
10.(128)LeGarrette Blount (Pit - RB)
11.(153)Stevie Johnson (SF - WR)
12.(156)Miles Austin (Cle - WR)
13.(181)Jonathan Dwyer (Ari - RB)
14.(184)Jordan Todman (Jax - RB)
15.(209)Connor Barth (TB - K)
16.(212)Jared Cook (StL - TE)

If this was a 10 or 12 team league, I'd obviously be horribly disappointed. My RB situation is absolute garbage and I'm not even real confident in Montee Ball until he proves he's what they're all saying he is. I picked 13th and 16th so RB's were completely picked over. Then QB's were picked over in round 4 when I got to Ryan.

Thoughts on both drafts?

Thoughts on both drafts?

First team looks really good. Very balanced with good RBs and solid WRs. I can't believe Moreno fell all the way to 119. I don't expect him to be great this year, but that's still really low for a guy who might end up being the featured back for his team, and Matthews is good when healthy. Kyle Rudolph may end up being a steal this year too.

I've never done a fourteen-teamer before, so it's harder for me to comment there. Obviously depth is going to be an issue in that one. Looks like a lot is hinging on Patterson making the leap (I have him in two of my three leagues, so let's hope so!) and one of your non-Ball RBs being productive. Of course, there are fourteen teams, so I'm guessing most others have similar issues on their bench.

If you mean you start 2 qbs you're screwed at that position otherwise I love this squad.
yeah i did mean you start 2 QB's. i realize Dalton is boom or bust but he still improves every year and he finished 5th in points last year. i'm hoping foles is decent, i think he should be consistently bottom of the top 10 QB's.

What are your guys thoughts on this trade? I just got offered Tate and Desean Jackson for Andre Ellington. I've loved Ellington since his freshman year at Clemson so it's hard to give him up. What do you guys think Tate will do this year.

Who are your other running backs and receivers and is it a PPR league? Standard roster settings?

Thanks.

The Rudolph pick was an auto-pick made by my computer when I lost internet at my in-law's house. :chuckle:

That's the one pick in that draft that I was really dissatisfied with. I've been trying to trade for Ertz, Cameron and Gronk and it looks like it's not going to happen right now. Decker's trade value seems to be low at the moment, because his QB situation is weak and I think people want to wait on Cooks to see what he does.

The 14 teamer usually has two guys that luck out with an RB or WR that has an uncharacteristically massive season alongside their WR1, WR2 and RB1. I've yet to be that guy, but hoping Mike Evans or Miles Austin can be that guy and one of my backup RBs like Todman, Dwyer or Blount becomes a #1 when the starter gets injured.

One thing to remember about Rudolph is that he's playing for the same coordinator who helped turn Cameron into a star last year. I fully expect a lot of throws to go Rudolph's way in Minnesota. I'd hold on to him even if you do make a trade on the chance that he ends up having a breakout year. Regardless, unless you get one of the top four or five TEs, they're all pretty inconsistent and interchangeable imo. Unless you're in a position to draft Jimmy Graham, you're probably better off grabbing a TE or two later in the draft when the better WRs and RBs are off the board.

And yeah, I can imagine that a 14-teamer really comes down to luck. If you draft someone who ends up becoming a star that year, you could win your league due to the lack of depth. Even 12 team leagues work like that a lot of the time. Sometimes in my 12-teamer I lose the first or second week on purpose so I can get the first crack at the waiver darling that week and hope he maintains consistency. I got Alshon Jeffrey like that last year, although I didn't lose on purpose in that one...my team just blew. :chuckle:

Standard roster and it's something like .05 points per carry and .1 PPR I think. But the rest of the scoring is standard. My running backs are stacked because it's a keeper league and I had the first pick. RBs are McCoy, AP and Ellington at the flex and Ryan Matthews on the bench. And receivers are Julio, Cobb, Watkins, and Emmanuel Sanders.

Honestly, doesn't look like you really need to do the trade. You're already ridiculous at RB and your receivers are solid as well.

Alright ya'll, let me know how I did.

You know nobody on your league knows what there doing when the dude with the 2nd overall pick takes Seattle defense in the first round

Should be a mandatory ban from the league the following year imo. Although I don't generally mind people making stupid picks, because it means better players for me later. I was loving it when everyone in my 12-teamer lost their goddamn minds in rounds one and two because it meant there were still legitimately great players left for me at 24 and 25. Generally speaking, the dumber everyone else is, the better chance you have of winning money.

In the 10 teamer there wasn't a single early round pick that didn't make any sense. One could argue Megatron at #3 was a bit of a leap but the reality is that if you want him you have to get him in the first, regardless of where you pick.

I've been sticking with the RB/RB/WR/WR/QB route for years now and it almost always guarantees playoffs. In the 14 teamer I had to go WR/RB/WR/QB and I feel like it fucked me up.
