Annual RCF Rate My Team/Who to Play Thread

That's what happens when the guy with the 2nd overall pick takes a defense and guys like drew bees go in the first round

Drew Brees went second overall in my draft last night. Then Peyton went third and Rodgers went fourth or fifth. I couldn't believe the decisions people were making. Last year I felt like everyone always took the guy I wanted right before I picked and it was the exact same group of people. This year I was loving all the bad picks.

Anyone who picks a defense in the first round should be banned from the league though. A chick took Russell Wilson in the first last night and I wanted to start a motion to eject her if she misses the playoffs. She's in my division though so I let it slide.

Seriously though I feel like everyone took stupid pills last night.

Well, it's a league where you can only start two RBs and there's no flex, so depth at receiver is more important than depth at RB. Plus, in a twelve team league your options are limited once you get beyond the sixth round, which is where I got Gerhart. But yeah, I have no idea what some of the people in the league were doing last night. There was a run of QBs early on and I just laughed while people wasted their high picks on guys like Kaepernick and Wilson when there were still elite receivers and backs on the board. That's what allowed me to draft Jones and Bryant back to back in the second/third round. I actually forgot how nice it was to pick back to back every time after the first pick, although the half hour wait between picks was annoying.

As far as waiver wire QBs go, the pickings are pretty slim right now, but several people in the league have more than two quarterbacks on their roster, which I think is stupid. I'd rather load up on WR and RB and worry about a back-up QB later. Josh McCown, Chad Henne, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Jake Locker are the best ones available, but I'm willing to wait it out. People that have more than two will inevitably drop one when guys unexpectedly break out this year. Foles isn't on a bye until week seven, so as long as he stays healthy it's not a pressing need.

By the way, I'm also surprised that Foles went as late as he did after how good he was last year. So many QBs got picked ahead of him. It was ridiculous.

Missed that it was a 12 teamer.

Like the Gerhart pickup in the 6th, great value. I agree WR are more important, but if Gerhart doesn't have a good year, you might be screwed at RB. Like I said, I think Steven Jackson is going way too low in drafts & is great value where he's being taken, I just don't know if he's gonna stay healthy.

While there's question marks with your RB, you could also end up with at least 3 who will have terrific years & be worthy of starting week to week, so it could go either way.

It's probably not actually a bad idea if you have 6pts for TD's. Still, it would be hard for me to do that and just wait on guys like Stafford, Cutler, Romo, etc..I love when people pick QB's real early and I just snag all of their RB's and WR's away from them.

Agree completely. Guys like Newton (who's always been good for a Top 5 finish among QB's) & Cutler will still be there later on and are guys I wouldn't mind being my starting QB at all.

Yeah it is six for touchdowns. I just don't like round one QB picks. Other positions tend to get hurt more so depth is key.

Report: Bengals release BenJarvus Green-Ellis

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The Cincinnati Bengals have released running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, according to a report from CBSSports.com.

Green-Ellis played two seasons with the Bengals and led the team in rushing yards both seasons. However, the emergence of second-year running back Giovani Bernard and the drafting of second-rounder Jeremy Hill has made Green-Ellis expendable.

Green-Ellis was due to make more than $2 million this season.

The Bengals have to trim the roster to the opening day 53 by this weekend.

In case anyone drafted him in late rounds..

I had my 1st draft late last night. 10 team league and had 10th pick, 1ppr and a crazy scoring system for QBs where you get 1 point per completion and 6pts for pass TD so QBs go early. The way the draft used to go was basically all QBs in the 1st rd but this year there were only 4.

My Team:

QB- Cam Newton(Rd 5)
RB- Alfred Morris(Rd 6)
RB- Trent Richardson(Rd 8)
WR- DeMaryius Thomas(Rd 1)
WR- Dez Bryant(Rd 2)
Flex- Randall Cobb(Rd 4)
TE- Rob Gronkowski(Rd 3)
D/ST- New Orleans Saints(Rd 17)
K- Justin Tucker(Rd 16)

BENCH:

QB- Robert Griffin III(Rd 7)
RB- Lamar Miller(Rd 11)
RB- Carlos Hyde(Rd 14)
RB- Dexter McCluster(Rd 18)
WR- Kendall Wright(Rd 9)
WR- Sammy Watkins(Rd 10)
WR- Justin Hunter(Rd 13)
WR- Kelvin Benjamin(Rd 15)
TE- Martellus Bennett(Rd 12)

At the 10th pick I had my pick of WRs after Megatron and the best RB available was Lacy. Peyton,Brees and Rodgers were gone too so instead of Stafford or Luck I went with my #2 and #3 ranked WRs. I like to have strong WRs in my leagues. I have my 2nd and final draft later on tonight and its a 12 team ppr league. Everything else is basically regular scoring except no negative points for fumbles or INTs. I'll post that team later on.

Might as well post a couple of mine. 12 teamer, PPR, 6pts per QB TD, QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex, Picking 9th:

QB: Dalton, Tannehill
RB: Montee Ball, Spiller, Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce, Woodhead
WR: DThomas, VJax, Cordarelle Patterson, Kendall Wright
TE: Gronk, Heath Miller
K/D who cares?

I know QBs are weak, but other teams started to grab backups before I anticipated. My position players reflect their neglect.

12 team, nonPPR, 6 pt/QB TD, picking 7th starte QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, Flex

QB: Drew Brees, Wilson, Tannehill
RB: Gerhart, Chris Johnson, Fred Jackson, Lamar Miller, James White
WR: Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Reuben Randle, Doug Baldwin, Brian Hartline, Rod Streater
TE: Gronk, Jordan Cameron
D/K: Who cares?

I also know that my RBs are weak, but I am also betting on my other positions carrying their weight...plus anticipating being able to trade a QB and/or a TE to bolster that later on.

10 team non ppr. Read em and weep. Gonna try and trade one of my top backs for a receiver

Having a tough time deciding who to start at WR. Between Cobb, Crabtree, and Emmanuel Sanders. I would normally start Cobb but don't really wanna start someone playing Seattle. Sanders against the Colts and Crabtree against Dallas. Thoughts?

Had another draft through ESPN tonight. 10 teamer, pick #7 overall, standard scoring, 16 rounds

Tony Romo
Matt Forte
Montee Ball
Demariyus Thomas
Andre Johnson
Kyle Rudolph
C.J Spiller
Browns
Nick Novak

Jay Cutler
Rashad Jennings
Knowshon Moreno
Chris Ivory
Julian Edelman
Jeremy Maclin
Andrew Hawkins

Feel free to criticize or comment on either of my teams, and I have more coming.
