I would also like to have a default Avatar, but something not cavs related, something to motivate people to make an Avatar, maybe something like a topless picture of Beiber.

So honestly in terms of usability (navigability, flexibility, etc) XenForo is a downgrade.

I know the conversion was made with back end reliability, among other things, in mind; but it should be worth exploring different tweak, plugins, themes, that improve the forum's usability.

Happy to give specific example if needed.

give specific examples. no promises, but obviously we're just getting started with Xenforo. from all accounts, the old site was held together with smoke, mirrors, and duct tape.

the new site during its first week is not going to offer the same features as the old site after years and years of tweaks and upgrades.

I didn't see this brought up but the old software had a cancel button next to the post reply button, can that be brought back? Many times I censored myself because my post was either not adding value to the discussion or I couldn't seem to get my point across so I would end up canceling the whole post. I'm not sure if many people used that button or not but I did a number of times.

Is there any way to condense the page when you get to the bottom, such as automatically collapsing the reply box and removing the "share this page" line? It seems like a lot longer to get from the last reply in a thread down to where you can click back to view the main forum.

A bunch of these stuff has prob already been covered but I'll list a couple I haven't seen.

- Raise avatar size limit to 100kb ? Or allow any hotlinking ?
- Click on thread sends you to first unread post instead of having to click on the button in the top left
- Spacing between thread list is kinda of tight making them look bunched together.
- Ties in with the last one, this make the hover pages difficult to discern (maybe make them always visible with a darker font color?
-Also related to above, why show the thread starter's avi ? What does the question mark in the bottom right of some of them mean ?
- Thinking about this further, I think it is the biggest culprit in making the thread list look very cluttered. (Avi of last post author ? Why ?)
- Breadcrumb positioning is a little low ?
- Ability to change number of threads and posts visible per page

I'm just about done tweaking things for the week. I have to wait to make major template changes until our new skin is designed and tested. That will likely come when XF 1.4 is out of beta. I don't know when that will be.

There are a few more "add-ons" that I will be purchasing before the season starts that will make this place a little more user friendly but until then just get used to the new software. I'll post (or Wuck will) a short user guide to help people out.

Tomorrow I'll be working on realbrownsfans and I hope it will be ready to go by this weekend.

Clicking on thread title takes you to the first unread post if there is an unread post. Otherwise, takes you to the thread. This doesn't work on the front page but work on all other pages. If the thread has a blue dot, it means there is an unread post.

Already added. Click on your name at the top right and go to "preferences".

Some of the design comments will have to wait until after after the new skin is designed/tested.

FYI:

You should now be able to change your "custom title" (what shows up beneath your RCFname) by adjusting it on the personal details page: http://realcavsfans.com/community/index.php?account/personal-details

If you don't change your custom title, then RCF will default to basketball-themed titles (thanks for the suggestion, Quad). They go from Rookie all the way to Hall-of-Famer.
