Around the NFL 2011-2012

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hate it when a game announcer jizzes himself after a player like Ed Reed or Polamalu causes a fumble by blindsiding a QB when they go absolutely untouched. I could do that when I get to run straight through the line with no resistance.

Updated cap numbers, as of Monday

Posted by Mike Florio on October 4, 2011, 1:12 PM EDT

AP
Even though the season has begun and all big-money free agents have been signed, teams can still use their remaining salary cap money on players whose contracts will be expiring next year or thereafter.

Thus, it remains important to keep an eye on how much cash teams can still spend.

For teams close to the limit, the question becomes whether enough money will be available if a current starter is injured, and needs to be replaced.

The full list of cap numbers as of Monday appears after the break.

Jaguars $35.4 million.

After today, I think I'm going to have to admit that it appears I am going to be completely wrong about Cam Newton. He has opened up that offense. He's carrying his team. If he allows himself to be taught by his coaching staff, the Panthers are going to be dangerous for years. I really thought he was going to be a complete and total bust right out of the gate.

Need Atlanta to lose tonight.

Damn did the Eagles implode against the Bills.............

^ I'm so glad they're losing like this...absolutely hilarious.

Eagles suck for Luck? 1-4 record, Vick threw 4 picks.

Panthers may only have 1 win, but they are drastically improved. They are a few plays away from being 4-1 or 5-0. Cam Newton looks great.

Somehow the Bengals are better than the Browns this year.

The more and more I watch AFC football, the more I see of the regression of the Colts (certainly), Patriots (awful defense), and Steelers (Ben's INT problems). I hate to say this, but I do believe it's Baltimore's conference to lose. I believe Green Bay is scary good as well, and the NFC is their's to lose.

Baltimore v. Green Bay in Indy in February...doesn't sound right.

Matt Stafford throws a perfect spiral about 30-40 yards with a flick of the wrist. Jesus...

Calvin Johnson is the best player at his position in the NFL this year....well it may be a tie with Aaron Rodgers.

The Lions are fucking sweet. The most fun team to watch in the NFL, hands down. They're only going to get better too.
