Assistant coaches finalized

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

I don't think Miller and JJ's signing is official yet. Perhaps waiting on this Kevin Love trade to happen?

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, Posey?, and now Drew?)

That article is from September of last season. Hetzel, I believe, also left to go to Charlotte.

Sorry about that. I skim more than read an article carefully.

What does this have to do with the Cavs assistant coaches? Wrong thread?

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

Finally found something on Posey, he's still an assistant coach for Canton.

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

From the Boston Globe:

It appears that former Bucks coach Larry Drew, fired in controversial fashion last month when Jason Kidd decided to pursue the job, is making progress in joining David Blatt’s staff with the Cavaliers. Drew has ties with Blatt, who contacted him soon after he was fired by Milwaukee. Drew would join the staff that features associate head coach Tyronn Lue, who was an assistant with the Celtics under Doc Rivers.

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

Larry Drew's strength is diagramming offensive plays that isolate a mismatch. I've never been his biggest supporter as a head coach because he seems passive and far too married to his limited system. He does have a great relationship with the great Zaza Pachulia, so we can hope the hole at backup center will be solved with a Milwaukee trade. :gap:

It doesn't sound like Blatt is trying to lure Drew. It sounds like Drew is desperately trying to latch on to a title team.

Well Blatt's well known for his Princeton offense, so hopefully that system will be in play for 3 and a half quarters, with Drew stepping in late game to diagram isolation 2 man games with Kyrie and LBJ.

What does it mean?

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

What does it mean?

I think it was funnier in context. It was right after he saw a picture of what Lee Jenkins actually looked like.

He means Bernie Bickerstaff looks like a guy who should be named Lee Jenkins. And Lee Jenkins looks like a guy who should be named Bernie Bickerstaff.

Re: Assistant coaches? (Lue, Boylan, no Mosley)

Multiple Sauces can confirm Larry Drew has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Cavs.
