Avengers: Infinity War spoiler thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Amazing

My first reaction is how different this was than the 1st Avengers. That was my first MCU movie, and I had no trouble following the story and characters.

Even for Age of Ultron, you could probably follow along pretty well if you only saw the 1st Avengers. Winter Soldier would've helped, but not necessary.

This movie just assumed you were an MCU regular. Can't imagine how people who had only seen a handful of MCU movies before this reacted to this movie.

There were a bunch of people in the theater I was in I inferred were not regulars based on the "wait isn't he from ______?" type questions to their companions.

They were shocked, "What the fuck? That can't be it?!?!" or sobbing by the end.

I have not seen this many people so stunned by an ending since Star Trek The Next Generation's original airing of "The Best of Both Worlds" Part One.

Didn’t catch it

I'm going again tomorrow.

Any suggestions of anything I should be looking out for that I may have missed the first time?

Look for Tobias Funke when they go to see the Collector.

Also, at the end, see if Thanos has a scar or gaping wound in his chest. It looked like he was limping a little but I don't recall seeing any wounds.

I really enjoyed it

I thought Thor and Dr. Strange were awesome

I found myself rooting for Thanos at times, what a great villain.

Strange and Stark are wonderful together.

Round 2 and I was even more enthralled

Thor is the star of this movie in my opinion, but everybody was great.

I’m guessing the next one is Cap heavy since his role in this one was minimal.

So I'm interested to see what Netflix Marvel does.

Theyve always tried to make a passing mention of the movie universe in their shows. Particularly when it comes to the Avenger movies.

But now I feel it would be nearly impossible for them to do it. How do you talk about half the population dying unless you make it look like that in the show?

Yo...after Infinity Wars, please give me Secret Wars.

This movie was fucking PERFECTION. I am still pissed at Thanos and it hurt to watch all of those guys die.

Also...I wonder if we can expect a Red Skull return at some point. That entire scene was incredible.

Too much to ask that Iron Fist disintegrated?

First, this movie exceeded my expectations. I’ve enjoyed the posts of around the comic stories. I didn’t read Marvel or DC when I was kid. Like a few others, Infinity Wars and Dr. Strange are on the top of my list of MCU movies.

I was stunned how well the story flowed while still getting some character development across all of the characters and arcs. This movie could have been a disjointed mess and overall it felt rather cohesive .

Kudos to the Russo brothers, two dudes from Cleveland making arguably most epic film out of the entire franchise.

Also, shout out to the other local product Carrie Coon who played Proxima Midnight .Wish her character was more developed but there is only so much you can cover in a movie with so many characters. Will always root for Carrie since we attended the same high school.

So many directions they could go with the next movie. Celestials? Some sort of redemption of Thanos ? One of the Avengers wielding the gauntlet? I cannot wait till the conclusion is released next year.

I read an interview with the Russo brothers indicating they think Avengers 4 is “better” than this installment. That is hard to believe, but it is exciting to think about.

In the comics Thanos got so caught up in the power of the Gauntlet after he defeated the Celestials that he gave up his physical body to basically become God.

This left his physical body (and the Gauntlet) unattended allowing Nebula to steal the Gauntlet and return our heroes along with the others to life.

I think they have built Thor up nicely these past 2 movies. He is a God, he should be annihilating people and because of that status, he should be a big threat to Thanos.

I love the new gen of heroes, but it's going to be really hard to replace the originals in the next phase.

Agreed from a marketability point they will have to make Spider-Man antman and black panther central and hopefully keep strange around although cumberbatch is hard to tie down I would think
