See, I'm kind of torn here. I love the Dawg Pound, I like the idea of a dog... But then again, the Dawg Pound has only been in existence since 1985 and that sort of brushes aside the previous X number of years for the franchise.

Pro: The dog would pay tribute to the 80's teams - some of the proudest seasons for this franchise

Cons: It may not reflect the rich history/championship years.

Either way, I'm sure I'll be fine as long as it looks cool.

This guy probably gets the goods on shit like this.. Petrack is a regular on Cleveland Browns Daily and generally speaks well of them in the Elyria Chronicle Telegram...

Edit: On a side note, I hope the Browns go toward the "textured" stripe look. Ala, Seattle. I really really like how they have their own printed texture as well..

I think you're mixing the two tweets up.. The first guy was commenting on the new helmet. Tom Withers's tweet was regarding the logo. I don't think the helmet will be the logo.

If the logo isn't Brownie the Elf, nor is it a dog--- what else could it be? An angry caricature of a helmet? A shadowy paul brown? The numbers 1964?

Well, I'm looking forward to the new gear. The orange helmet logo is asinine. I'm fine with the BG helmet there, minus the sticker. I'm still hoping grey is the dominant uniform color, despite the facemask.

Personally, I LOVE numbers on the helmets.

It's been made clear that in compliance with Randy Lerner's request, the logo will not be on the helmet. Therefore, I don't know what the logo will look like, but I'm pretty confident that whatever it is, it won't be on the helmet itself.

There is really nothign else I can think of..

And I still think a white/grey facemask with an orange helmet looks better.

Maybe they do go the soccer route and make a "crest" honoring the 1964 past and Paul Brown, etc... They're big in soccer and I think someone mocked a browns one.. Perhaps, they went this kind of route...?

Would be a great throwback style logo that pays homage to the history of this blue-collar town.
