Browns Adding to Game Day Experience

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This opens up a hundred different windows for a gray accent with the new uniforms.

So pumped. The Brown facemask gives us a much more modern look.

But why would you get rid of the gray facemasks if you plan to introduce gray into the uniforms?

I actually really like this logo. I definitely wouldn't want it to be the primary, but I like how it looks compared to the old one.

Disappointed, but we knew we would be. A new shade of Orange. ..roflmao.

I am impressed at the reaction, about what I expected. Ready to go over to the OBR and see some true melty responses. I actually like the orange- I realize if isn't 100% unique thus it fails or high standards but I like it better than the pumpkin orange. If the helmets have a matte finish that orange will look pretty good. I'm a fan of BGs colors and I couldnt care less about that cow college.

The Dawg Pound logo looks childish but then again... It's the logo for the Browns Adult Kids Club. The section was neutered years ago, Hell, it was neutered the minute anyone cared about it having a logo. So if it bothers you, we'll, you maybe need to do some re evaluating.

I just can't wait until tomorrow though and the melting over the new jerseys. If these are the refreshed logos then you know the jerseys are about the same. Watch the debate over the centimeters the stripes moved or the millimeters difference they are, and how that matters to, well, anyone. At least the Browns are giving me entertainment in February even if by proxy.

I was hoping they'd go old yeller on the Dawg Pound logo and either update the Brownie or build a new one that looks better than the stupid football "B". The Paul Brown silhouette sounded badass but I wasn't holding my breath.

Oh well, the uniforms are the real update in the first place. I have a feeling the only reason they updated the logo is because they're featuring orange on the jersey and wanted to change the shade on both jersey and helmet.

Wasn't expecting crazy logo changes but if we roll out jerseys that are barely different, then I'll be disappointed.

"New" orange is fine, I would have liked the brown to get a little darker but whatever.

I do really like the new dawg logo. It is a bit cartoony but the style is really nice.

I personally like the new brown facemask.. everyone is hoping they're going to incorporate more grey.. maybe they're going more brown. I like the look.

Edit: change the hue of the orange. Current orange in picture just isn't showing our passion.

Nike definitely had imput on the logos. Look at the dogs mouth. Sort of a bent nike swoosh haha

So two things:

1. Sounds like they had another idea and pussed out on it. Would love to know what that was.

2. Yes, the orange helmets with the brown and white stripes are our tradition, but that does not mean that they have to be our logo, guys. At least update the helmet to a Revo or something that is actually used nowadays, jeez. Maybe they just feel like there is no point in having a real logo if they aren't going to put it on the helmet?

BEREA, Ohio -- With the goal to "honor tradition and provide modern edge," the Cleveland Browns revealed revamped logos Tuesday with a richer orange color and a brown facemask on the helmet.

The famed "Dawg Pound" face has a new design of a smirking "Swagger" dog.

The word marks, moving on from the traditional block lettering, are "cleaner, simpler, elegant," team president Alec Scheiner said.

In all, the changes are considered subtle.

But the team plans to "move the uniform farther ahead than the logo" during an April 14 unveiling at the Cleveland Convention Center. Asked if the new uniforms will have a fourth color, such as a medal gray, Scheiner said everyone must wait until April 14.

The primary focus of the helmet logo, Scheiner said, was honoring the Browns' tradition and matching with helmet's structure with the team's identity.

"Departing from that would be too radical a departure," Scheiner said.

The Browns say the orange is "brighter and richer and matches the passion of our fans and city. The brown is unchanged."

The official name of the new orange is Pantone 2028 C. This is the first time the Browns' official logo has a brown facemask. On the field, that facemask appeared from 1952 to 1962.

The Browns sought feedback from focus groups and surveys during what Scheiner calls a two-year revamping process, culminating with a rollout paralleling the 30-year anniversary of the Dawg Pound.

"Certain things you want to pay homage to," Scheiner said. "Push forward but don't lose track of our tradition."

Scheiner estimated he probably saw more than 100 designs of the "Swagger" face before deciding on the toothy mug. The Browns are trying to exemplify coach Mike Pettine's "Play like a Brown" mantra.

"As always, we spent significant time engaging with our fans during this process and took a very methodical approach the past two years to determine certain core characteristics symbolic of our great city," Scheiner said.

The team contemplated rolling out a different logo, but opted against it. Word leaked last week that the Browns would unveil logo changes, piquing interest for Tuesday's announcement. The intent of the rollout is not to make marketing dollars, Scheiner said, but to serve the fan base.

Not worthy of having a set day to release the refreshed logos. I expected an actual logo of some sort.

But like with every Browns season, expectations are shot down. The factory of sadness is a little brighter. Yawn.
