Game day experience... face it, it's really hard to create any kind of identity that a wide spectrum of fans can hang their hats on when your team name is a generic color and your only logo is a plain helmet of a different color.
The dawg pound should be a relic of a different era that was organic when it happened, and current versions all seem contrived. Same goes for the elf, it has nostalgic value going back to the last time the team won championships but that's about it.
We're stuck in this place and I just don't see any unique and accurate identity for this franchise on the horizon. Hopefully we just start winning and perhaps there will be some landmark events that are so positive that some creative fans will come up with a new identity that is both current and faithful to the essence of the team. If that ever happens we should just go with it and make it stick. Until then we're in limbo as far as I'm concerned, and losing teams don't have an identity worth hanging on to. Win first, and figure the rest out based on how that goes down. Any other way of it happening will just seem forced and fake.
