Browns hire Rob Chudzinski

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In all seriousness, kidding aside, those of you that are supporting him are doing so to validate his potential as a backup right? Or at least I hope so.

I honestly don't care if he comes back at all and, if he does, it better be as a back-up. I'm not supporting him so much as acknowledging that he had a really good year when he was here.

NFL punter is like my dream job. You make several hundred thousand dollars a year, get to watch NFL games from the sidelines, and only require three actual skills: catch football, drop football, kick football. You participate in less than a dozen plays a game and if anyone on the other team touches you they get arrested for assault. I could live like that.

Can someone explain to this guy that most of those fans weren't cheering his injury, but cheering the opportunity to see another guy in the job he should have lost at that point?

Were some cheering his injury? Yeah, we have some low class fans. But they don't represent the entire stadium. It's like the Cassel situation in KC earlier in the year. He was playing horrible, get injured, Quinn comes in, fans cheer. You're paid to perform.. when you don't perform move aside.
Not sure if someone already pointed this out...but Quinn was already injured at that point too. Anderson was benched earlier in 2008, and then Quinn came in and played like 3 games before getting hurt. We went back to Anderson and then he got hurt. So what you're telling me is that the fans were cheering because they were excited to see Ken Dorsey?

I don't buy that for a minute. Cleveland fans hated Andersons guts almost from the beginning for whatever reason.

Um, I don't think they hated him in 2007. Just sayin'.

I never understood why our fans hated Anderson so much. I loved the guy and his potential. It wasn't his fault his star receiver dropped a ton of ball his TE was hurt most of the season along with his most reliable receiver JJ and stallworth played what 4 games that year? Along with our running back declining and our RT being out all year except one game. I despised Quinn with such a passion but this fan base was so enamored with him DA never had a chance. However DA didn't help his cause under Mangini either.

You're right, it was just coincidence that he showed himself to be the worst QB in football in Arizona. He just got dealt two bad hands in Arizona and Cleveland. He was a victim. His misfortune had nothing to do with him throwing the ball to the wrong team.

As I said before, it was apparent that Anderson wasn't a phenom even in 07. His passes were very inaccurate but his offense made him look great. Is it really a surprise people were Quinn fans? First round pick who grew up a Browns fan, of course they wanted to see him play. When Anderson's offense came down to Earth we got to see just how inaccurate he really was. He looked awful and we had a 1st round pick sitting on the bench. Not exactly hard to figure out what happened.

Of course it turned out Quinn sucked too, but nobody really knew that for sure as he didn't get a chance until Anderson started to blow.

I wasn't saying he was great or anything but he was the best we had for this franchise since the return in 99. I was just saying it seemed like he got a raw deal because he was never going to be a fan favorite because the fan base was in love with Quinn. However 08 didn't help his cause in trying to develop either and I'm not saying he would be a great qb either if all those players played and contributed I'm just making a few points on why people hated him and preferred Quinn.
