In 2010, the average Indians ticket cost $26. The average Browns ticket cost $55.

Yeah and in 81 home games, comparing the two is stupid. You're spending only 440 to go to every Browns home game on average. Not to mention you tailgate before the game, so you don't even worry bout buying food. You're spending 2,106 to go to every Tribe game on average and you still gotta buy food and ect... Parking adds up too.

What's the average cavs ticket cost?

You need to compare more variables then just ticket sales. Even then, I'm not sure it's a fair comparison. There's a correlation to winning and a teams popularity though. We saw it with all the fair weather fans in the 90's for the Tribe leave and now with the Cavs. If the Browns were in the playoffs every year, you'd see a spike in their popularity as well.

It will always be a Browns town...Every Browns game has sold out since the return in 99 despite the pathetic record, that says it all to me.

Not sure why you said they don't sell out, because they do....as far as I know at least

Not true...they haven't sold out every game in recent years.

1.) Yes, this was an Indians town once, but it wasn't until 2001. It was from 1995 (after the move was announced)-1998/99ish (right around when the anticipation was at its peak for the new Browns), when there were no Browns here. Even then, a lot of the talk around Cleveland was Browns based, anticipating the new team coming in. After the '99 playoffs, when the Tribe blew the series to Boston, combined with the Browns coming back, was when it completely shifted back to a Browns town.

2.) Cleveland is a blue collar city. The most blue collar sport there is, is football.

3.) Even if there's no superstar on this generation's Browns teams, a lot of the guys my age (mid-late 20's) & even younger know of the Browns through their parents/grandparents/uncles/etc. That's where the "tradition" of being a Browns town & a Browns fan continues on mostly, IMO.

1) People cared more about the Browns than the Cavaliers the last seven years?

2) Baseball is pretty blue collar too...just as much as football IMO.

3) The same tradition is passed on with Indians fans.

Well...I appreciate the comments and votes. It seems as if we got nowhere though lol. The strong majority say Cleveland will always be a Browns Town, but nobody can really offer any evidence of why, other than that's just how they feel. Ah well...

We only get to see the Browns for 16 games. Where we get to see the Cavs for 82 games and the Indians for 162. The Indians and Cavs combine to play 244 more games than the Browns. Our time with the Browns is short. The Browns are like an old Girl Friend that you cant get away from. Every Sunday you say " that is the last time i talk to her, she pissed me off" But we always come back. And our Hearts, Mind, sanity and soul are still over her house, so we need to get that back.

With the Browns we can tailgate, get shit faced and watch our Browns. The Cavs and Indians, you aren't going to tailgate on a Tuesday night.

While this lacks factual evidence, it makes sense...I can definitely see the validity in this train of thought.

That still doesn't explain how this is a brown's town other then because people said it is.

First team to win a championship wins the collective heart of the city, end of story.

If the Browns happen to be the first ones to do it -- added bonus.

Ok, so most people saying this is a Browns town doesn't make this a Browns town? Wouldn't most people saying this is a Browns town make this a Browns town? Do you see where I'm going here?
