Browns Training Camp 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Silver lining: Grant should be returning about the same time as DeShaun Watson.

Outside of that one great play he had, Felton mostly sucked at everything. Which, sixth round pick, so he was always more likely to be a bust than a hit.
Was he really given a shot at anything on offense?

He's a small, shifty, quick guy who isn't fast. He's very nimble at running routes.

Ideally, he'd learn to pass block. Otherwise, he's just an underneath receiver who isn't a threat to beat you down the seam. Those guys are a dime a dozen.

Have any of you guys been out to one of the training camp sessions? I dragged my wife with me last Saturday. It was hottttt but I must say that they have really upgraded the place over the years.

Never want to see anyone get hurt, but i am not seeing the catastrophe with Grant going down?

Felton was a late round rookie on a team with two elite running backs and a damn good 3rd back. I also get the sense they are developing him as a hybrid running back/slot and will take time. I find it interesting a lot of folks are tossing him aside and anointing Ford as a replacement.

I have not paid extra close attention to camp clips, but @red. has done a great job handling it for me. Inside of this, seems like a lot of clips with Felton on the field in the slot, so he is getting meaningful camp reps. Lastly, has anyone heard, read or seen clips of Ford? I have not, so the idea he is leaping frogging Felton, and other backs seems a bit preamture — considering this is his first NFL training camp and has yet to even play a preseason down.

These stats just go to show how GOAT Josh Cribbs was as a return man. Like he's gotta be in the conversation for one of the best return man of all time, right?

The amount of times I've yelled at my TV when we receive a 15-yard penalty on a 3 yard punt return is staggering.
I'd love to see our net yardage on returns.

I'd be absolutely stunned if it wasn't consistently negative.

The only returns that matter are punt returns. Just take the 25 yards on the kick off.

Just fair catch all punts and take touchbacks on all kickoffs. Save yourself the inevitable penalty yardage.

Honestly perplexed as to why more teams don't do this. Players are much more likely to get injured, and I'd be willing to bet that fumble rates are pretty high on kick returns as well ...

'An examination of NFL injury data has found that punts and kickoffs cause more injuries, and more serious injuries, than other plays, and the league said today that it is concerned about that.

Between the punt and the kickoff, there’s a disproportionate number of concussions occurring on only a couple plays,” said Jeff Miller, NFL Executive Vice President overseeing Player Health and Safety.

And it’s not just concussions. The NFL also said there are more serious knee injuries, as well as more other lower-body injuries, per play on punts and kickoffs than on other kinds of plays. About 30 percent of all torn ACLs are on special teams plays, the league said, even though those represent only about 17 percent of all plays.

The league is now likely to look into ways to change the rules on punts and kickoffs to result in fewer high-speed collisions. The NFL has already started that, particularly on kickoffs, with rule changes that have resulted in more touchbacks. More change is likely on the way.'
