Browns Training Camp 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Desmond Howard is #1 with a bullet. I know Ohio State fans will always hate him, but he's from Cleveland. It's okay to admit.

Heisman Maxwell and Walter Camp winner, college HOFer, won Super Bowl XXXI basically by himself, had over 11,000 return yards in his career and 8 punt return touchdowns.
Your #1 kick returner of all time is someone who doesn't have a single kickoff return for a TD?

Hester is the No. 1 return man of all time when you combine kicks and punts.

Cribbs is probably top 5 combined.

If you limit it to just kick returns and not punts, you could make the case for Cribbs as the No. 1 NFL kick return man ever.

Patterson is tied with Cribbs at 8, and still playing.

I had no idea Leon Washington also had 8.

I think the "Is Cordarelle Patterson a hall of famer?" discussion is fascinating. At first you laugh, but look at all his accolades. Pro bowls, all pros, most kick return td's in history... it's a fun little debate.

Has anyone made it as a returner before?

The fascinating aspect of a return guy's stats is the team around him. Part of Cribbs's kickoff stats depended upon a terrible defense that couldn't stop the opponent from scoring.

Desmond Howard was on good teams with good defenses until the end of his career, so he didn't get as many opportunities in kick returns. Once he landed with Detroit, his kickoffs saw an uptick, punt returns went down.

It's certainly a fun debate. If I had one game to win, I'd go with Desmond.

I can remember Josh Cribbs selling weed at Kent….. I wore my Cribbs jersey for the draft here in Vegas; the amount of browns fans giving me high fives was astonishing. I thought it was more fitting crossing paths with Marcus Freeman staring at my faded jersey; without hesitation when we looked at each other I yelled “ND sucks”. He shook his head and headed to the front of the Bellagio for interviews. The kid was wearing a suit with capris, what happened to wearing pants that cover your socks?

I always thought that Trevor Huffman was a guy that didn’t have a hard time finding a date on a Friday night

Can’t read can’t write Kent State….yay!!!

I don't believe so, which is why it's such a fun debate.

4x all pro. 4x pro bowl. Super bowl champ. Member of the all decade team.

I don't think he gets in, but I love the arguments that people make for him.

Yeah, but zero TDs in 359 attempts makes it hard to argue for GOAT.

Cribbs had 8 in 426.

Patterson has his 8 in just 257 attempts, which is insane.

I really think its Hester, and just because i like old school, i want to throw in Gale Sayers somewhere on the list, lol

Its why i didnt put them in order, so many didnt return kicks for a long time, so hard to make an official list.

I'm not too concerned about all the injuries at WR, yet..

They had an overabundance of quality, not quantity... One way or another the position needed to weed itself out, and so far injuries have done that.. They haven't lost true quality yet, or something that can't be replaced, more so quantity.. The injuries push Felton and Woods up the totem pole and likely secure their spots on the team.. It also increases the chances of the Browns being able to carry Chubb, Hunt, Ford, DEJ and Felton on the roster with Felton being WR5/WR6...

Any veteran addition is likely tied to the Watson suspension... If Watson is suspended a full season, or even 12 games, there's not much sense to bringing a guy like Will Fuller in... Watson's suspension stays at six games and then Fuller makes some more sense..

The return game loss isn't a huge concern to me -- Felton was drafted with the potential to handle those duties, and should be able to do so.. I wouldn't be surprised to see DEJ and Ford get a chance to return kicks too..

Speaking of which, I'm not sure why Felton is a target for criticism.. For a sixth round pick, he had some really impactful plays last year and showed if you can scheme to get him the ball in space, he can rip off some big gains.. With Grant going down, it's really going to be upon Felton to fill that role and I'm excited to see him get the chance..

The other position battle I'm interested to see turn out is DL 9/10.. Weatherly got hurt, Day has been out and there hasn't been much noise after the top guys.. Weaver has been stashed on the Browns for what seems like three years, they gave Glen Logan a decent UDFA bonus and Rochell has some inside/out versatility...

The Browns will add another QB, it's just a question of who and at what price... If Watson is out long-term, Jimmy G makes some sense pending the price... If it's more than 6 games, there's no way they enter the season with Dobbs and Rosen behind Brissett.. I'm watching guys like Brett Hundley and PJ Walker who are on the roster bubble, and the Cam Newton conversation could come into play with a long-term Watson suspension..

Not to be obnoxious, but are you actually still holding out hope this may only be 6 games for Watson?

That ship seems to have sailed for sure, right?
