While the "talent" balance on this trade can be debated, there's no doubt that this trade will make the Bucks a better team. Keep in mind, the "market" dictated Magloire's value, not fans or even Larry Harris. Mags has been on the block for months now, but he is what he is, a solid rebounding, woefully inefficient one year rental.
Would you guys presume that Harris turned down a deal for Danny Granger, Josh Childress, or whatever your "better value" trade may be to settle for Blake and Skinner? Mags had to go and this was obviously the best deal on the table. I also doubt that Harris wanted to improve an eastern conference team so the trade makes sense all around.
The Bucks are a pretty bad team defensively but are making moves to combat that inherent weakness by bringing in players that are better defensively (Blake over Ford, Skinner over Mags...blocks per 48) but more importantly OFFENSIVELY efficient.
Bogut will quarterback a 4 around 1 offense from the post. The offense will be highlighted by post passes and ball swings to open shooters. The Bucks will host a bevy of deadly 3 point and perimeter shooters that will limit transition opportunities by the opponent by putting the ball into the hole with more frequency.
Blake and Redd will lead the league in fewest turnovers for a backcourt. Ford was a terrible turnover machine last season which led to breakouts for the opposition....his penetrating and missing layups did the same.
Great trade for the Bucks. The Villa deal allowed Harris the flexibility to find the best "pieces" for Mags instead of having to find a starting power forward....which the market never would have given him.
