I saw this and thought god finally answered my prayers of getting rid of Wedge. Then I read it and was back to being disappointed.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A bus carrying Cleveland Indians players to a game against the Kansas City Royals has been involved in a minor accident. No players were injured.

The bus had nine players onboard, including Wednesday’s starter David Huff, when it was struck by a car not far from Kauffman Stadium. The players were loaded onto another bus and taken to the stadium, while the car driver was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

It’s the second time the Indians were involved in a bus incident in Kansas City. In 2004, rookie pitcher Kyle Denney was struck in the calf when someone shot at the bus. He avoided serious injury thanks to go-go boots he was wearing as part of a hazing ritual.

Hafner will come out of this with a ruptured bicep...

I do hope that was sarcastic speak. :) As much as I want Wedge gone at the end of the year, I don't want harm to come of him.

It sounds like nine players and the driver of the car were very lucky. It doesn't say who's fault it was. I guess it's safe to say if it was our bus driver's fault, he/she will be out of a job very soon.

Anyone remember when Tribe farmhand Kyle Denney got shot while riding the team bus? Someone in a car that was driving next to the bus fired into the side of the vehicle. Denney was saved from a severe injury by the go-go boots he was wearing as part of a rookie hazing ritual. The bullet slowed the bullet down enough that it didn't go in deep.

I was hoping for David Huff to come out of this accident with an unexplainable transformation and turn into a flamethrowing freak ala Henry Rowengartner from Rooke of the Year...

Alas he was still his usual 65 mph batting practice throwing self last night. :(

At least we got the win.

Yes that was one of the most odd/not covered nearly enough/could have easily been made up and put in trivia to fool people stories of all time. It was just insane and nobody seemed to care about the strangeness of the story at all lol.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Cleveland Indians pitcher Kyle Denney shrugged off being hit in the leg by a bullet, and said Thursday he was grateful he may have been protected by white cheerleaders boots he was wearing as part of a hazing ritual.

As part of a rookie hazing ritual, Denney was wearing a USC cheerleader's outfit, including the high white boots, on the trip to the airport.

"Our trainers said the boots may have saved Kyle from further injury," team spokesman Bart Swain said.
