"Call of Duty" killer? We'll see come Fall, 2010...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Right when I saw the EA logo at the start of the trailer I knew I didn't want this game. Every game I have purchased from them has had the worst online play. I used to love EA games but they have been dead to me since the next gen consoles have come out. Especially with their shitty sports franchises. This game might have a good campaign but I know for a fact online will be slow and it will not be user friendly at all. Not to mention its a Medal of Honor game. I've hated every MoH I've ever played no matter what the system. Another alternative is the new Battlefield that is coming out in March but it is also made by EA. It's a more respectable franchise online than MoH is however. So look into that before you make your decision on this game IMO.

What unle3ash said. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Battlefield is a whole new animal. But I hate that it's incorporation of some of MW's elements into the game but what are they going to do? I'll pick that one up because it's still a DICE game that shouldn't be missed.

I see MAG is trying to dethrone BF as the best massive FPS game. 256 players. Damn. Trying to win in the quality side there. BF may have the quality but you know what they say, there is quality in quantity.

I had never heard of Heavy Rain, so I apologize. I forgot that "the show" was a Sony exclusive, as the rest of their pro sports series have been absolute failures. Don't even get me started on "the life."

GOW3 is great and all, but I've seen too many hack/slash games to be impressed. Hell, I honestly think Bayonetta and Darksiders will come out as better rated games than GOW3.

If you're a PS3 owner, Heavy Rain should be a game that you at least check out or read about to see if it could be fun for you. It just looks like a unique play and gaming experience:

MLB '10 looks to be one of the best, and probably the most realistic sport's game to ever come out. Year after year, that franchise only gets better, and if you truly enjoy baseball (like me), then it is a must-purchase every year.

GOW III will probably be one of the defining games for the PS3. If you've played the first two, then you know that they are a great experience. Hack and slash games do tend to wear themselves out, but GOW was one of the first to truly get it right, and I expect no less with the third one.

Sorry to to stray off of the subject. I just don't purchase too many games. Come February and March, though, I will be doing otherwise (Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, Heavy Rain, God of War III, MLB '10). Let's just say that between the Cavs, playing basketball (physically), working, and finding time to play these games, my wife is going to want to choke me out by April. LMAO.:chuckles:

Now, back to the original subject at hand. These modern warefare-type games just really hit home for me. Maybe it's because they're about the war that I know, the one that I've been a part of. They just always seem to draw me in (like the campaign in MW and MW2). I enjoy these games for online multiplayer, but I really get into the story mode. If this MoH game has a fluid and manageable campaign, then that's all I ask for. Anything more is just gravy to me.

The realism that this game portrays just seems phenomenal. I know it's a short trailer and we don't know much about the game yet, but I am still very impressed. EA's Dead Space was an amazing game, so I know the studio is capable of putting out quality. I just hope that they don't rush this game, and they take some of what has made the Modern Warfare farnchise so amazing, and implement that into this game.

Am I asking for a MW replica? Hell no. But if they can at least bring forth some of the mechanics and elements that made that game so great, while also having a somewhat solid storyline that draws me in, then I am sold.

If mutilplayer is what you go for, then your gripe is definetly justifiable. But who really knows if multiplayer will be a focal point with this game, and/or if they will try to implement a deep MP experience like MW/Battlefield.

EA is all about money, so who knows. You'd think that they'd try to push for a great online experience with this game to pull away some of the MW-fanatics (afterall, MW2 will be close to a year old when this title comes out), but who knows. I guess it is just wishful thinking.:dunno:

No matter how hard EA tries, they will not be able to pull a significant (if any) amount of people off of MW2. Hell, COD4 has been out for over two years now, and I still see people playing it all the time. There were a ton of people that didn't even play WaW (which, admittedly was a somewhat steaming pile of crap anyway) because they didn't want to switch from COD4.

Although I am REALLY getting sick of COD's online community, you have to tip your cap to Infinity Ward. They have made arguably the most popular online console gaming experience ever, and problems aside it's still a damn good one.

I couldn't agree with you more, Marcus, which is why I am hoping that this game can really bring the heat come fall.

I love the COD franchise. But it's time for something fresh, be it campaign mode or online multiplayer. MW's online community is growing tiresome to me. Maybe that is why I want this game to succeed so much. Competition brings out the best in everyone. I hope EA brings it with this title. They know what they are up against, afterall...

The singleplayer looks like it might be interesting but I have no faith in any MOH game's multiplayer being good enough to "kill" MW2.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is the game I'm looking forward to since I'll never buy MW2. BFBC2 will probably overtake MW2 on the PC pretty quickly but I don't see it killing it on the console. Battlefield games are a lot different and because they're so team oriented, I don't think they have the same widespread appeal as COD games.

The graphics look a lot better than MW2's 2007 era graphics.

A lot better....

The Call of Duty Killer comes out March 2nd and is titled Battlefield Bad Compnay 2. Hopefully this will hold me over until Halo: Reach drops this Fall. Halo still is the the undisputed champ in regards to console FPS games. It actually takes skill to play unlike Camp of Duty.

EA does not develop games. They are a publisher, a ruthless and demanding one that oftentimes push release dates ahead of completion schedules.

Halo takes skill?

 Are you serious? Halo takes a a lot of skill. It definitely takes more skill than CoD and thats a FACT!

Not saying CoD doesn't take skill but it's got nothing on Halo's skill gap.

I don't think COD takes skill.. I don't consider myself that good at it yet I put up good scores. Just have to be smart when playing. But I don't see how Halo takes skill.

Halo skill = jumping and shooting accurately. That's the only skill associated with Halo. Anyone that claims otherwise is a fucking fool or 13 years old.

Did I mention that by jumping, your aim lock doesn't change at all? You still look at the same damn spot on the game. Halo is for fags that can't handle a real FPS.

For any Halo fag that can't handle my commentary, I'd be more than happy to meet you on any game, any system, and fucking molest your faggoty ass.
