Caris LeVert: Two More Years!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

I didn't get to see the fourth quarter because of a late night HOA meeting but I really liked the fight from Caris while we were down in the third. It looks like he didn't let up in the fourth quarter.

I might be the only Vert supporter on the board, but nights like this I appreciate his heart. He may lay bricks but he doesn't quit on the floor.

I guess it was good that he stepped up and picked up the slack because neither DG or DM had it going tonight. But damn, is he ever a ball stopper. But tonight it didn't seem like the ball was ever going to move. Maybe the 18 turnovers made them gun-shy from passing.

Maybe a hot take, but I think Caris has been the best all around player so far. The guy stuffs the stats sheet and plays hard on defense. He might not be here long term, but I appreciate what he brings.

I like vert as a bench guy combo guard with length. I think there are others on here too. He plays tough defense and does well for a bench guy for sure.

Vert has been great, I think we would all like the team a lot better if he wasn't shooting 15 FT's a night, because that probably means everyone else is playing like ass. He has been great at finding the dunker for high efficiency shots, but seems like he doesn't generate a lot of 3's either for himself or for others.

Awesome as a defender, a luxury to have as a safety valve on offense for when DG and DM don't have it going, but really can't be our primary offensive option.

He's been good but honestly I think the Cavs fell into OKC's trap last game by keeping the ball in his hands so much. Maybe it was out of necessity as I'm guessing Garland might be injured, but the offense just kinda grinds to a halt and gets very clunky when everybody is standing around watching LeVert. I do like what he's been bringing defensively though.

Caris truly is the X-factor. He sometimes makes the most difficult shots yet sometimes misses the seemingly easier layups. His shooting stroke seems different every shot, but when he’s on, it doesn’t seem to matter. He can be tunnel-visioned but can also be excellent at finding open shooters or dumping the ball to the bigs for easy dunks.

Either way, one of the best games I’ve seen by him against the Warriors last night. He was great on both ends of the floor. Made life miserable for Curry and others, while making timely plays on the offensive end

The great part about LeVert's game last night was that he got his thing going but more in the flow of the offense. It wasn't the ball-stopping, with the rest of the team standing around type of offense we've seen in other games.

It's almost like this group might be starting to figure a few things out.

Or, maybe it's just the favorable matchup with the GSW. I hope it's the former.

Caris is our second best player isn't he? All things considered.

In LeVert's 270 non-garbage time minutes the Cavs are outscoring the opposition by 10.7 points per 100 possessions. That's 4th best behind Mitchell, Strus, and Allen. Garland is right behind at +8.8, Wade is +1.7 after being +20 in 17 minutes last night, and Mobley is -3.3.

We need some guys off the bench to get into the plus column, especially Okoro at -7.8 and Niang at -16.1.

Right now? Actually you might be on to something...He brings so many things to the table--locked in defender, 3 level scorer, hes a solid passer, & most importantly...I noticed he doesn't shrink in the moment. The dude elevates his shit when the lights get brighter.

In reality...I would say Garland & Vert are about tied...and that can be attributed to Garlands AWFUL start.

I really like Vert & I would be upset to see him traded. He seems to want to be here and that counts for something in my book.

I think Caris can be sculpted into a good player, but right now I think he has too much freedom. Ever since he's moved into the second unit, he's had the green light to basically play however he wants, and that's where you often get the hot & cold Caris.

He needs stronger coaching to eliminate some of the more ineffective elements from his game.

WTF does JBB need to see to understand a player is just not having a good night? What good does a deep rotation do when the HC doesn't utilize it to find the hot hand and give the cold hand a rest? This should NOT be difficult, but once again JBB seems clueless.
