Carmelo Anthony Trade Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I came here to suggest TT for Melo straight up, but I see others were here first...

Melo is pushing for a trade.

Knicks are actively fielding offers.

Neither of these things is a surprise.

not that it's real- but it fun to think of it as long slow trade getting JR Shump and Melo for Dion Kirk Amundson and TT.

Certainly not what the story linked said. He actually said New York wasn't even ready to discuss the possibility of trading him yet. Just that they are "getting closer" to being ready to talk about possibly trading him.

And that's bullshit smoke and mirrors for they are actively fielding offers but everything they've heard wasn't even in the realm of worth discussing. It's been nothing but pure lowball offers like our TPE for him.

You can bank on this shit.

Melo might be the last player in the league I'd want on the Cavs right now.

Completely agree. They had a hard enough time integrating Kevin Love last year; imagine how much worse it would be with a ball-dominant player like Melo.

He's a second option masquerading as a first option. No team is going to win a title with him as the top option. He's probably top two or three in the NBA in terms of offensive talent, but he alone can't carry a team. He needs to go to a team with a strong number one presence and/or a traditional point guard.

It's fun to think about, but it would never work anywhere outside of NBA2K. Honestly, I don't think it would have worked out if the Big Three had stuck together in Miami and found a way to bring him on.

Come on...Lebron, Love, Carmelo, Kyrie, Mozgov...that lineup would be killer. Not to mention all the second team/change of pace options you'd have. Melo has been overrated so long that now he's underrated. If you want to see how he plays with other stars around him, check out his 2012 Olympics performance where he fit in perfectly and was crazy efficient.

The thing is, if he wants to be traded, why didn't he just go to the Bulls or somewhere when he was a free agent? Never struck me as all that sharp a guy.

Melo wanted the money. NY offered him well over what anyone else could offer. Now that he has it, he’s looking for a trade.

Honestly, it's sleezy but if Melo does ask for a trade he's played his cards well, assuming you don't factor being a good person into the equation. All the cap space thats about to open up his current deal will look half-way decent. There will be teams willing to trade for him.
