Cavaliers change court logo

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It looks pretty good, can't wait to see what it looks like full size IRL.

From the history page, first off LOL @ the 94-96 design. I was in high school then and have really vague memories of it now that I see it. I do like the darker hardwood though.

Of the old ones I think the '03-'05 one is my favorite.

I gotta say, I'm a little surprised no one has made a gay joke about the whole crossed swords logo...

Personally, I'm not too crazy about how it looks inside the paint as one solid wine color. Definitely digging the new font though, subtle just enough to keep our identity but still move on from the lefailed era

:chuckles: sorry, didnt read. Kinda glad those aren't them. They look like old man inspired bed attire.

If those pictures were taken from NBA 2K11 then those are indeed the final jerseys. There is no "jersey editor" in either NBA Live or NBA 2K. The first time the Navy jerseys were ever shown were in a preview build of NBA Live a few years ago.

the uniforms were made for the computer version of the nba 2k10 game. people are able to hack into the game and change the uniforms some how

Pretty sure I saw the new unis, and I'm pretty sure they have that exact font/wordmarking on them. Reminds me of the pistons unis.

For the court, eh, I wish they'd put the sword with the 'c' flag at mid court.

how do you not know if you saw the new uniforms? were you dreaming or just out of your mind?

I don't like the swords at center court. For some reason I've never been a big fan of the sword as the secondary logo, its to generic I guess for me. It would look much better with just the Cavaliers in the new lettering at center court. I know it would never happen but it would be nice to see Cleveland written at center court, I know were not called Cleveland, but I think its a cool unique idea.

I like the design overall and the "all for one" theme, but the yellow highlighter around the swords and Cavaliers has gotta go--too busy.

Also, big issue is how the colors will translate to TV and if the refs need more clarity with restricted zone for defense under hoop. Hard enough to call that when colors don't blend together.

If I was Gilbert, I would move one of the Quicken logos up top rather than side by side...will get more exposure that way when action is on both sides.

Crane's Business mentioned it in a story and linked to The Scene's reaction, which wasn't positive FWIW. Humorous comment on that site says: "Nice design but slogan needs to change to "All for One...and he left."

Cavs' New Court Design is Cartoonishly Bad

What the hell?

The Cavs officially unveiled the tweaks to their logos awhile back. Now comes the court design update, which is... well, bad.

Why include the swords? Two of them, sans context, as if the freaking sword was the single defining visual landmark of the Cavaliers. And why'd they go with the secondary logo lettering? I like it just fine by itself, but not with the swords. Leave the name across center court with no basketball, no swords, no accoutrements, and you'd have a simple design. More is not better.

Add in the fact that the center court design — especially those freaking swords — is garishly big and you have a giant step backward, the Ramon Sessions of court designs if you will.

Of course, part of the problem is the redesigned logo itself, which now looks like it was outlined in yellow highlighter.

But it's not like screwing up the court design is anything new to the Cavs. Just have a gander through the various betrayals of common sense and aesthetics over on this page and you'll get a good sense of how they've been doing this for years.

This one may not be the worst, but it's still dispiriting to see them pass up an opportunity to make something better.
