Isn't there a Tristan Thompson thread to argue about Tristan Thompson's salary in? I check here occasionally to see if I've missed any news and stuff like this makes it pointless.

Do people still not understand why you re-sign TT?

1. He's young and improving and proven in the playoffs
2. His contract will not be bad in two years
3. He walks and you get NOTHING for him. He stays and you either get his production or the eventual ability to trade him for other players.

Whether we hardball him or get pushed into his # by Rich Paul, whether its an underpay or overpay, it doesn't matter. You sign him for maximum impact on the current roster and on future ability to make moves via trade.

I understand but Lebron is holding Gilbert(the god) and the franchise by the balls right now, we can't surrender to his terms we gotta draw a line somewhere and it is obvious Griffin/Gilbert don't value TT as a 80m-90m player and for a good reason.

If they sign him for such contract every player will demand these contracts and this will be bad for the franchise, every player in the league is gonna sign for Rich Paul and Gilbert will go bankrupt (/sarcasm) but still.
This is not where we wanna go.

I demand nothing less than my happiness from yesterday for the rest of the week. So today: LMA to Phoenix; Cavs re-sign TT (80 mill), JR (something reasonable), Delly (something reasonable). And then tomorrow: Cavs trade Haywood contract for a very good rotational wing, Cavs use MLE on Mo.

I would only be happy if TT signed for less than 80m anything beyond that is -100$ and off to my Cavs shrink

Why does it matter how much TT signs for as long as we bring everyone else back? Like I said, its not our money. Its Dan's and if he is willing to spend, why the fuck are we throwing hissy fits over it?
