Well here they are. First rumours for the new year. Thanks to Ben for some of this info.

There are internet rumors circulating that Donyell Marshall has been traded to Orlando.
We'll do some research and let you know what we find out, but at this point, it's nothing more than a rumor and there is no substance behind it. Jan. 3 - 7:30 pm et

This one comes from left field. Noone has considered a move involving Marshall. This is purely a rumour. This is one trade that would work.

Cleveland Trade Breakdown

Outgoing
Donyell Marshall
6-9 PF from Connecticut
10.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 0.9 apg in 28.1 minutes
Luke Jackson
6-7 SF from Oregon
2.3 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 0.6 apg in 8.5 minutes

Incoming
Tony Battie
6-11 C from Texas Tech
7.2 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 25.0 minutes
Jameer Nelson
6-0 PG from St. Joeseph's
11.0 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 3.5 apg in 25.8 minutes

We get our speedy point guard and backup center. Orlando play Howard, Cato and prospect Mario Kasun in place of Battie at center, and could also utilise Marshall. Dooling and Francis man minutes at the point along with Diener, and Jackson comes in as a potential replacement for Grant Hill should he find his feet.

The Cavalier's win on this deal in my opinion, although Battie is a free agent at seasons end.

Ric Bucher mentioned that the Cavaliers are still in the sweepstakes for Ron Artest. He said He said..."don't forget about the Cavaliers...they are still in the mix".

Take what you want from that.

There is still talk floating of a trade between New York and Cleveland in which Snow is traded for Richardson. I guess this makes more sense if the first rumour is true.

All speculation ladies and gents.

This is another trade that works with Marshall heading to Orlando.

Latest update:

There appears to be no truth to the internet rumor that Donyell Marshall has been traded.
He could be moved at some point, but for now he is with the Cavaliers. Jan. 3 - 10:32 pm et.

Moving on then......

Yea.
I didn't really see Donyell being moved at all. It's way too soon into the season, and he's been performing as our best bench player right now, so no moving him.

I know they like to make bad trades, but why would orlando want Donyell?

Orlando do struggle from the perimeter with only Turkoglu a consistent threat beyond the arc. Marshall gives them an inside outside frontcourt with Howard. Still though hard to imagine Marshall being moved.

I'd probably do Snow for Richardson if we did the other deals.

yea, I don't see it happening either. Why mess with things when we are playing so well. I want to see this group have enough time together to really gel on both ends of the court.

I wouldn't want to touch Richardson, really. He's just a chucker, without any clutch. He has injury problems, and just a horrendous a contract as Eric's. No thanks to that.

It would be very very nice to get Nelson but I don't see them wanting with his big contract or the Cavs willing to give up Marshall. He's to nice of a fit to the other 3 big men we have, although I suppose a guy like Garrity could fill the shooting role nicely.

Snow for Q would have to be a 3 way deal as we clearly don't need Q and we would be left with somone needing to play half the PG minutes.

I honestly don't see the Cavs making any big trades. I think they're pretty satisfied with what they have for now and they have been playing well lately.
I can see them sticking with what they have and waiting until the offseason to make any changes.

The only way the Cavs trade Snow is if they get a PG in return. I really don't see where Richardson would fit. There are only limited minutes behind LeBron and Hughes and the Cavs already have 3 players (4 if you consider the minutes Jones gets at SG) who can play there and who accept their roles.

I want to keep Donyell. I'm also not sold on J. Nelson yet either. He appears to be an undersized PG who would be a backup on a good team or an average starter for a bad team.

Nelson has a big contract??

I dont think id do either deal myself..Battie is old, Nelson doesnt really intrigue me. Richardson really doesnt offer us anything...unless the first deal was made then it kinda makes sense.

i reckon donyell has been good 4 the cavs and maybe look into getting someone like kelvin cato or tony battie . but i don't reckon orlando will give up jammer nelson he is a solid part of thier offense.

Cavs will trade if they stall on the road.

At first I was shocked by Marshall being involved, but I wonder if that doesn't make more sense than trading Gooden.

If the Cavs trade D-Yell and keep that mental midget who sports #90 at PF, I am going to be pissed...
