Cavaliers Trade Rumours

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I was testing one of my own rumors and made it work.....We trade Drew and Luke/Sasha to LAL for Odom. I had a few combinations that would work salary-wise. I forget the various combos...nonetheless, would any of you be satisfied with Lamar here in place of Drew?

Talent-wise Gooden for Odom would be a big upgrade for the Cavs, but I'm not sure it works for the following reason. Odom is not a power forward in traditional terms. He's a playmaker who needs the ball in his hands to do his thing. I don't think there'd be enough balls to go around to satisfy Lebron, Hughes and Odom. But Odom's a very talented guy. He's one of the few guys in the league who can triple-double. Another thing I like about the idea is that it would give Lebron a chance to get some rest, which would make him a better player, particularly defensively. Interesting idea, CCF.

Like posters have already pointed, I think Odom just like Richardson would find getting PT difficult with Lebron and Hughes locked in at SF and SG. They really add nothing that the Cavs have already in abundance already and don't add things like tough defense that we need.

A trade would be have to be for a PG that is the only thing I see happening

Hell no to Odom...

Gooden is about the best PF we are going to get...face it. We arent gonna get a defensive monster at the four at the deadline.

If the Lakers wouldnt give up Odom for Artest (who they seem fine dealing with, the Lakers are full of off the court crap, Artest would be just another elephant in the circus) they aren't going to give up Odom for Gooden.

Yell for Battie? I dunno, once we get AV back, he can play the roll Battie would play here. We'd get Nelson I guess, but really he hasn't been that impressive when I've seen him play. Hes young, quick, can shoot the 3, but hes a turnover machine. Like its been said, this would work in conjunction with Snow for Q rich, but we already have a chucker, and hes actually much cheaper.

I would rather not mess with things till after January, when we see how this team's recent progression translates on the road.

I think LA had to give up some picks as well, that I would guess they want to keep. Gooden would be off of their books next year, meaning they would be able to build a team that is to Phil's liking - they have some picks and would likely have some cap space to play with. Now, I am guessing on their space - would take some work for me to find it, and I don't have the time right now.

I like Odom's game. He can fill in the 2, 3 or 4 spot. He has a handle, would bring more options to our offense. Hughes has been off more than he has been on, Odom could pick up the slack when this occurs. We have AV back to pick up on the rebounding for loss of Gooden. Not sure how you can't like it....especially since I think we have about a 5% chance of having Drew in the wine and gold next year. What player would you like, a PG....a bruising rebounder/defensive force? There aren't many to be had.

This idea just came to my mind when I heard about the Odom/Kobe fight.

The Lakers will not give up Odom for Artest.. So I doubt they would trade him for Slow90

Odom would not fill a void for us... He's a taller Hughes.

Supposedly Phillip Jackson told mitch kupcheck(sp) that Odom is someone he doesn't want traded, per espn.
