Cavs sign PG Ben Uzoh to 10 day contract

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ben did not get cut during his 10-day contract. He played out his entire contract!

Besides, he'll be back anyway (unless LAL pick him up first).

We'll be waiting on that $100 Winer.

Man up, and add some gold to your name. I've lost some bets on here, and I've paid my dues.

oh look and JonFromVA the king of "I said this but I really mean that" adds his two cents

Wow. You might actually have scored a point if I was writing binding contracts on this board, rather than attempting to partake in conversation....

HaHa !!! No, you lost the bet Rysen. You can't play semantics with the bet. He's been cut from the active roster, you have to pay up.

Here's a little factoid I learned in the past year that should apply in this situation:

Legally when a contract term is considered confusing/obtuse the benefit of the doubt is granted to the side that agreed to the contract, not the side that wrote it.

Actually, you don't know what you're talking about; Not legally anyway:

Contract law works best when an agreement is performed, and recourse to the courts is never needed because each party knows his/her rights and duties. However, where an unforeseen event renders an agreement very hard, or even impossible to perform, the courts typically will construe the parties to want to have released themselves from their obligations.

I saw this coming from a mile away.

Rysen made this offer to bet for $100 strictly because of the fact that NO ONE gets cut from their 10 day contract. He thought he caught a fly in his trap with Winner, but Winner tried to clarify that he was betting $100 that Uzoh would have his 10 day contract expire without a new deal. Rysen didn't comment on this clarification.

Neither side was on the same page from the beginning. Ryzen isn't trying to back out of the deal. He just made his bet in a way he couldn't realistically lose. Not trying to defend anyone, just saying this was the obvious outcome from reading the original bet.

Actually, you don't know what you're talking about; Not legally anyway:

Umm... what was the "unforseen event" that rendered your agreement hard to perform? The fact you were wrong?

If you wanted to go the Wikipedia route, you should have read the section on interpretation which starts out like this:

Once it is established which terms are incorporated into an agreement, their meaning must be determined. Since the introduction of legislation regulating unfair terms, English courts have become firmer in their general guiding principle that agreements are construed to give effect to the intentions of the parties from the standpoint of a reasonable person.

yeah nobody gets cut during a 10 day contract . . . thats why its a 10 DAY CONTRACT

Rysen came on here talking out of his @ss telling us Uzoh was the second coming.

also this kids grasp of the english language is lacking as this "winer" is not a winner but more of a wiener or a whiner

That was a deliberate play on the word, not unintentional... Semantics, as Wine & Gold would say.

W&G: I did not lose the bet! I clearly stated that Ben would play for the entire 10 days. This was a direct response to Huber, who said that he'd be cut in 2 days. I offered the bet to him - he refused, and Winer accepted.

That being said, I'll donate 10% of the bet due to all the complainers, who themselves have never donated anything except ignorance and insults!

What a pussy. And what the hell is a winer? Are you trying to call him a winery or something? Douche.

Bullshit.

The original bet that was accepted was that Uzoh would not be cut. After the bet was accepted you tried to modify the terms, and the modified terms were rejected by winner0274.

So we're left with this:

"I'll make a $100 bet with you right now that he doesn't get cut. If I win, you make $100 donation to RCF, If you win, I'll make $100 donation!"

Since Ben Uzoh was cut from the roster, you lose. Pay up $100 or get the hell out of here.

Or you'll pay the $10 you can afford. Which, coupled with an apology, is enough. Looking back at this thread, I remember when I first came on this board some people were giving you crazy shit that was excessive and unfounded, and I defended you like crazy. What I hadn't been around long enough for at the time were your antics, and people weren't attacking you because you were wrong on that singular point, they were attacking you for these games you play, constantly. Sometimes you can actually form decent points, but your incessant desire to back your statements with false sources/ bravado is childish and unnecessary.

And in response to the "complainers" who have never donated anything except their ignorance? You stand alone on top of that ignorance pile, and many of us have donated monetarily. If you put up $100, you'd be in my ballpark. $10 will get you started. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Heath's name in gold.

Ryzen isn't trying to back out of the deal. . .

Ryzen IS backing out

Uzoh didn't get picked back up and is no longer with the Cavs

he retains his douche status alongside JonFromVA

Poor Ben Uzoh. His Cavs legacy at RCF will always be linked with this "bet"...

That actually makes you look worse, as amazing as that sounds.

Bottom line you made a ridiculous bet and had no intentions on paying knowing you can fall back on this technicality. That's disingenuous and there is no way to argue against it.

Ever looked in the mirror?

It's amazing thinking back to the Scout.com days when you were trying to be a voice of reason and begging to be a moderator so you could clean things up - and now the only thing you spew is hate at others. Bitter much?
