Cavs Sign Tarence Kinsey

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

Who cares if he can dunk? Every single player in the NBA can dunk, if you are 6ft tall and you can't dunk, you are the least athletic person in the world.

Saying a person can dunk has absolutely nothing to do with them being a basketball player.

Not true. This guys was in the NBA and couldn't dunk. In fact, he couldn't make a layup either. :uhh:

Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

I hate Danny Ferry. The guy has done nothing but keep us where we would have been without him.

Anyone good at math? What happens when you take one step forward and one step back?

What is the step that you are referring to being backward? Not resigning Devin Brown? I mean I don't think that signing this kid is Ferry's idea of the trade to put us over the top? I don't see how we can criticize Ferry so much, he went out and made a huge trade that everyone was extremely excited about last year at the deadline, and if Wally would play up to his potential this would have been an amazing trade for us. I mean we were a few points, and two of LeBron's shittiest career playoff games away from beating the NBA Champions last year....

We saw that he tried to sign both Deng and Gordon, Maggette and Posey, and he is currently trying to sign one of the best young players in the league in JR Smith.I'll admit, I have criticized Ferry in the past but it sounds like hes in the mix for all the players that are not a "pipe-dream". It isn't Ferry's fault that the players in the NBA are all becoming greedy as hell and want more money that they are worth.

Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard Tarence Kinsey to a contract, Cavaliers General Manager Danny Ferry announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kinsey, 24, split last season with the Memphis Grizzlies and with Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul of the Turkish Basketball League. In 11 games with Memphis, he averaged 3.6 points on .421 shooting and 1.1 rebounds in 8.7 minutes per game. He averaged 9.2 points in 14 regular season games with Fenerbahce Ulker and posted averages of 8.8 points on .492 shooting and 2.8 rebounds in 12 Euroleague games.

“Tarence is a talented young perimeter player that has good length and athleticism,” Ferry said. “He has shown an ability to be an effective player on both ends of the court.”

As a rookie in 2006-07, the 6-foot-6 guard played in 48 games (12 starts) with the Grizzlies and averaged 7.7 points on .457 shooting, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 20.2 minutes per game. Kinsey, who played all four seasons at the University of South Carolina, averaged 18.8 points on .491 shooting, 4.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.4 steals in 41.8 minutes per game in the 12 starts with Memphis.

Trying isn't good enough...

You embarrass yourself with every post....

Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

you think we can trade him straight up for JR Smith?:chuckles:

Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

I don't see the Cavs counting on Kinsey to play a major role next season. His signing won't stop them from pursuing other moves and who knows if he's even being counted on to be on the final roster.

Bringing in Kinsey is a nice small low risk move. He played pretty well and showed he could produce in the NBA in 2006/07. I can't understand why he wasn't on someone's roster after the Grizzlies let him go last season.

Re: Cavaliers On The Verge Of Signing: Tarence Kinsey

Oh well, time to dust off the NBA 2k8 and give this kid a run

Low risk, moderate reward. For what is worth, Grizz fans seemed to think the kid had promise and were not pleased when he got cut from the team.

Nice sleeper pick up. Just a quick question.. im assuming we used the BAE.. does that mean we still have the full MLE?

This kid ain't going to play. If Mike Brown didn't give Shannon Brown time to grow ( a player we drafted ourselves) then he's not going to give any burn for a D-Leaguer who was cut by a shitty team. Cedric Simmons version 2.
