i like nazr and barry brings a little more of a game than jones does. i'm not really thrilled about getting rid of jackson. jackson looks slow but ginobli doesn't breathe speed either but has the bb sense. jackson is a twenty game rook. if his shots starts falling we would think he was great.

decent trade. i do like barry but add udrah and it would make this more of a real swap.

I think this is the trade we would have made for magloire if the hornets had been interested in the pieces we had to offer. They were not, but the Spurs may be. It makes a lot of sense, especially if AV comes back in strong. I still think we try to nab Udrih in the deal.

The trade makes sense for me ....at least looking at it from a Cavs fan's perspective. Never been good at the hypothetical trade rumor game, but, love the intangibles that the players coming in would bring, and the lack thereof, that the players leaving would remove from our team ...so, irregardless of the scientific plusses and minuses in points and rebounds etc...that this trade involves ....it would make the Cavs play more of a team brand of basketball, and that is what wins.

I wouldn't do this deal. Seems like a panic move and just a trade for the sake of making a trade.

A few years ago I wouldn't have minded Barry but he doesn't have much game left at this point. A backup C is a need but Mohammed might only be a rest of the season rental.
Gooden may have occasional brian cramps but he's still the most talented player in this trade. I also still think Jackson has potential although it's tough for him to show much in the 1-3 minutes our young genius coach Mike Brown gives him.

Too much to give up in my opinion for role players who might only contribute for this season.

The only way I'd make this deal is if it included Udrih and the Cavs have a healthy Anderson to play PF.

Gooden, should i stay or should i go?

just watching Gooden over the last year and change with the Cavaliers i don't think he is worth bringing back at the end of the year. i was reading the thread about a rumor trade to the Spurs, don't know if that will happen but if the Cavs have any offers for him i would seriously look into them.

i don't want to make it sound like he is a horrible player i just don't see him as a piece for the future. maybe it is better to just hold on to his expiring contract?

really for all the athletic ability and promise he may have i would rather have a guy like Najera who is full of heart and effort.

TB22, I like Najera too, and I also wish Gooden had more "heart and effort" as you put it, but Gooden's a much better basketball player. There isn't a GM in the league who would trade Gooden for Najera.
