Cavs Ticket Questions, Policies, and STH Concerns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What are the best tickets to get and best way to get them?

I am traveling to three places this year with NBA teams who don't draw well (Milwaukee, Atlanta, Detroit). I just bought seats for the Cavs games directly from the team sites when single-seats became available (the instant they went on sale on the first day). I was a little surprised by the choices available, and that the brokers didn't beat me to it. So, face-value seats plus whatever exorbitant Tickemaster charge. Around $60 for decent 2nd-tier seats, around $150 for very good 1st-tier/center seats. I imagine many places have sold out by now, and I didn't even check in LA/Brooklyn/NY/etc. Those tickets are ridiculous even if you get them at face-value.

I don't know if there is a "best way" but occasionally decent deals come up through Stubhub or Ebay. My guess is that the Cavs will be the biggest draw across the league, though, so prepare to pay...

I went to a Cavs game in Indy last year and got 12th row, just to the left of midcourt, for $80. Crazy to imagine what difference a year makes!

I sat courtside, right behind the photographers against the Wiz last year for $100.

Days gone by...

BTW about the Facebook thing, I sincerely doubt that's the case. Unless your profile is public and you worded it in such a way that sounded like you would sell to anyone who found the post.

If your Facebook is locked down so only friends can see your posts, I suppose that eliminates the "public" aspect of it. At that point it's a group text, you know? Can't text your friends and ask them if you want tickets? Wild stuff.

I agree, this story sounds weird. Definitely not the facebook thing.

Actually, I believe he's saying that facebook is definitely the reason, so curious why there are doubts? I believe he's saying he may have made it public and was offering tickets on facebook--that could be contrary to the Cavs contractual language prohibiting selling on any public forum other than flashseats.

This actually makes me feel a bit better since I have not heard of anyone getting their seats locked due to just selling or transferring on flashseats. We have heard that selling elsewhere can get your seats locked.

I think the message may be getting lost in the translation: it may be that they are looking for brokers or those selling on other forums, including by monitoring flash seats, but that just selling or transferring on flash seats will not get you locked (although the Cavs may question you).

Yeah maybe you're right, would have to have been how it was worded. If I post to Facebook, "Hey friends I can't use my tickets for this game, let me know if you're interested." I would be shocked if there was any type of consequences.

Yah I pretty much said there are a lot of dates to choose from...they looked at it like I was selling all my seats which is definitely not true....just the games I Know I can not attend

Good luck and please let us know what happens.

I think this is a prime example for those of use who might want to sell tickets to other member's of this site. Make sure you are selling them through Flash Seats and not on here.

Yep, like I said I will only be selling a few of my games but I guess I won't be able to give anyone the heads up. I won't be posting here.

That is sad that is coming to this....

Also, can someone post when they get their presale tickets delivered to Flash Seats? I'm tired of bugging my rep every day asking questions, but I'd like to know when I can expect them into my account.

You're going to see a good amount of full season tickets open up next year... a lot of people bought them just to sell the full season at 2x-3x the price. Im happy i left my deposit in the system for next year.

So funny story.

I went to Flash Seats to see what opener tickets were going for. Someone was selling 2 for a "Buy It Now" of $275 per ticket. I clicked on "Buy It Now" just to see what the surcharge was. It was over $100 for the fees.

So I go down to hit the Cancel button.

I see a button starting with "C" and figure, "Oh that must be the cancel button"and hit it without reading.

Next screen says, "Congratulations on your purchase".

The "Cancel" button I hit was the confirm button.

So I paid out the butt for opener tickets by accident. Awesome!

I am going to justify by saying I will remember the opener on my deathbed, but otherwise wouldn't remember what else I would've done with the money.

@col63onel man that's bittersweet. Hopefully they are some good seats, but like you said it will be worth it 4 weeks from today!
