Cavs Ticket Questions, Policies, and STH Concerns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
^^^Two weeks is still a long time away. The hype has not yet hit, but it will starting in about a week. What we don't know is how motivated the sellers are. I think many seats are priced to sit---in other words, sellers would like a given price, don't need it, and would go to the game if they don't get their dream price.

There will be others who need to sell, so the price for those seats will fall. How many there are remains to be seen.

Awesome seats just sold for $65 on flash seats

If there are no alerts on flashseats, then how is it that these cheap seats are purchased within a minute of a listing? The same with the prior cheap listing? Do some just stare at flash seats all day? Even then, don't you have to refresh it every minute to know of new listings?

If you're sitting in a cube for 8 hours a day there's gonna be someone refreshing the page every 5 minutes or so.

Upper bowl tickets are going for as low as $185. Upper bowl tickets which are premium, such as center court, or near row 1 go for around $300.

It's very interesting how many tickets are listed for sale in the upper bowl and are asking for over $350-400 and they aren't even premium upper bowl seats. There are almost no sales around this price for upper bowl tickets either. There are hundreds of tickets like this.

I expect to see upper bowl tickets decrease in price from around $185-220 to closer to $140 in the coming days. I don't see how it would be possible to have a price spike. We are coming up to the last 2 weeks before the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come down to even $120 in the last week. I already have seen packs of 4 tickets having accepted bid offers for $150.

These guys either will start accepting bids for much lower than their asking price, or start decreasing the asking price.

Leading up to the Brown vs Steelers game, the price got over $190 for cheap upper seats. I'm talking about row 32, no alcohol section. The largest marketplace, StubHub, had less than 600 tickets available the last week before the game. This is less than 1% of total stadium available. The last day before the game was close to 350 tickets.

The Cavs currently have 6% of the total stadium for sale on FlashSeats. The demand simply isn't there for the price they are asking. Of course there will be some people who just say sure I'll go the game, but there are many many people who will sell.

6% is way low.

I posted on Sunday that there were 2635 tickets available in an arena with 20,500 seats. The average asking price was $480.75. There were 69 tickets listed as sold at an average price paid of $164.17. 15 of those sold were in the lower bowl. Most expensive were 2 in Section 100 that went for $650 each.

Your post caused go back and look again.

As of 10pm last night, there were 3175 tickets available. Average asking price $427.88. 120 sold at an average of $177.03. 36 of those were in the lower bowl, including 2 floor seats that went for $999 each.

Number of tickets available is increasing, asking price is dropping. Price paid is fairly consistent, but the quality of seats is going up.

I know some of you with tickets need to believe prices will go up, but how can anyone look at the data and draw that conclusion?

No way seat prices go up from here. 2 weeks ago I thought $250 was a steal, now you can't get to those prices until the end of page 2.

Sorry, I didn't realize the total items listed at the top of flashseats was number of listings not seats. There is over 15% of the stadium for sale. Prices will take a nosedive to around $120 very soon.

I believe the really crappy seats might drop down to $100 also. Will be interesting to see.

No doubt, this has been an interesting study in economics and psychology. One of you college kids needs to do your thesis on this.

wow I feel like a thief...I sold 3 tickets to this guy in Section 231 for 480 total...and his brother in-law is giving me 2 tickets to any of the last 5 home games...hes going to hate himself/me when/if he checks flashseats

Someone posted tickets for the home opener at $65 a piece (four tickets) and their gone....

Looks like I am going to have to be that one who sits on Flashseats all day and refresh it, damn.

FYI for the 10 gamers - in our Membership packets we get two 10% coupons to the team shop for friends/family as well as 10% discount for ourselves for the whole year.

Watching ticket prices for the home opener is interesting because prices are seemingly dropping but the market still isn't out there for the lower bowl prices above retail. I can see how some say closer to the home opener hype might increase, but I still can't see some of these prices being met. I think reality for a lot of people set in and realized the Cavs have 40 other home games this season.

Bingo!

I saw people pay 5 to 6 k for the opener on the 1st day or so on Flash Seats. The market doesnt want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for 1 regular season game. Yea it is lebrons return, but you can go to the Pelicans game and for a majority of the people there it is their 1st time seeing lebron in a cavs uniform this season. Every night will be an event this season.

I spent 310 on lower bowl seats for the Pelicans game. That price tag would be two behind the basket loudville seats for the opener.

I'm just glad that 1) I'm going and 2) I didn't break the bank.

Buying a partial season ticket package was the best investment I've ever made. Reading through my Membership packet the other day and seeing some of the perks I got chills just thinking about how fun this year is going to be. GO CAVS!

What type of perks? I read about the discount at the team shop.
