Charles Barkley/Cleveland

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Everyone says shit. I am curious if you go on and target each one of them?

Chuck was one of the very few who actually stuck up for Delly when everyone was going on about how dirty etc he is.

That could be a new career opportunity, lol, just refuting Skip Bayless BS alone could be a career. Kudos to Barkely for trying to tell the truth about Delly, sure, but what about this "sterling Al Horford" lie? I guess the brotherhood can't go there. The original point was, if JR got suspended for 2 games, why shouldn't Horford get a suspension? Oh yeah, "he's not a dirty player". He just makes dirty plays. Meaningless distinction in my book.

If you watched that epi, his initial reaction was there should be no suspension for that punch by JR. Once he saw from different angles, thats what prompted the "he should be suspended for five games".

Now, why can't we compare the Al Horford and JR incidents?

Because of two things.

Al Horford didn't connect Delly in the face. He was going to but he changed it the last moment. JR connected with Crowder. Also, like we were discussing in the playoffs thread, the reaction by the players who were at the end of it played a part.

Last but not the least, JR's history. Love what he has done here but can't deny that he has had a history with these kind of incidents. And, if you do something regularly, you usually get extra games.

Horford did connect with his elbow to Delly's face, obviously from all the views I've collected. But it's OK because he is not dirty, but JR is "dirty", and now Delly is "dirty" too, so they have to live with that label and be punished for the rest of their careers, with no chance of reprieve? That is the manufactured narrative that I refuse to have stuffed down my throat, a Disney fairy tale told by idiots, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

By the reasoning of JR being suspended, Howard should be suspended as well. His backhand was just as bad as JR's. Almost the exact same thing.

Agree, but the point of this thread is the collective inconsistent statements of Barkley and the national media, depending on what team you play for, or, to the point, depending on whether you play for Cleveland.
the funny thing is I get the impression that all this #hate just fuels them with a you-don't-know-us kind of chip that is not a bad thing in the playoffs. They feel disrespected and not appreciated, they can get all uptown funk on them and say, "just watch"

I agree, similar to what Ohio State went through to their championship run this year and in 2002. No respect. Then Bam!

Barkley on Inside the NBA last night:

"Cavs will win the championship this year."

"I'm so happy for the city of Cleveland, they deserve this."
