I can't remember what thread it was in now, but a couple of days ago in a non-related thread a couple posters had a small discussion about Chris Parker. As Windy, Lloyd, NEOMG have designated threads, I thought I would start one for Parker and the Cleveland Scene. Feel free to delete or move or whatever. I got a few chuckles out of his most recent article regarding Windhorst's statements on Bill Don't Lie. Parker seems to really take Windhorst to task.

Parker seems like a really interesting guy and I always enjoy the banter during postgame between he and Blatt.

I feel like I always learn a new word in his columns. He certainly has a DGAF attitude in his writing that I find refreshing.

A VOICE OF REASON. hallelujah.

We should try to arrange a Q&A with Chris on this site, he seems like the type who would be open to it.

Chris Parker, you fantastic SOB, where have you been all my life?

"Of course from the backseat it only looks like you’re turning a wheel."

Phenomenal.

Great line. I really liked this paragraph as well:

So what? LeBron James calls some of the plays. Does that mean some reporter’s going to make a down payment on some brass ones and ask the anointed one why he ran that particular play at the end of the game? “You know the one where you’re dribbling in place for 20 seconds and then chuck it from three?” Still waiting. Blatt’s simply an easier more captive mark for the press.

Interesting... I was perusing Parker's twitter and noticed he tweeted a link to John Krolik ... well, interesting to me because when reading Parker's article ... his writing style reminded me a lot of Krolik's.

Isn't it funny when you read someone's body of work, you can just tell the difference between a 'natural writer' and a 'professional writer.' Such fluidity and colorful language.

Just sensational work. And now I sit here wondering why I never bothered to read more of his articles in the past? Will certainly be doing so in the future.

The reception here seems like Madison Square garden when some rando on a 10-day contract scores 20... :bad:

Act like you've been there before.

But seriously, nice to see accountability within the local media.

Great, well written piece. If I have one criticism of his writing though it's that sometimes it comes off as too verbose, as if he's trying too hard to sound intelligent. I don't know him too well though so that could just be the way he naturally writes.

Thanks for starting this thread. I had not been reading his coverage but I will from now on. Parker is actually writing about basketball, rather than drama, as all the rest (excepting Lloyd in some cases) have been doing all year. And Parker actually seems to understand the game, which sets him apart from the drama seekers.

To be fait he speaks the same way asking questions. Its funny and he tries hard to come up with questions Blatt hasn't heard already. Totally bugs me when reporters ask a variation on the same question asked 2 min before.

Blatt has kidded him a couple of times for his "high speech".

Fedor is a fucking cunt.

yeah, i said it. what a petty and lame-ass bullshit thing to say to one of your colleagues. fuck, I don't know why this pisses me off so much, but that is just such a fucking ridiculous thing to call a member of the press out on and Fedor is LAST god damn person to call anyone out on anything. Fy for satan! (sorry for going over to danish, I couldn't adequately voice my disgust otherwise)
