The next time Chris Webber suits up for an NBA game, it likely won't be as a 76er.

Webber appears on his way out of Philadelphia as the team prepares to finalize details of a contract buyout that, according to the Philadelphia Daily News, could be completed as soon as Wednesday.

As far as this concerns the Cavs...we don't need him. He is still in denial and thinks he is a superstar in the league. A delusional cancer in my opinion.

I'm rooting for the Knicks to pick him up, that would be fitting.

The perfect situation is the Knicks trading Frye, Lee and Robinson away for him with that huge contract...unfortunately, it was not meant to be.

True that would be ideal. But I'm actually rooting for the Knicks to win now that they have the Bulls first round pick. How great would it be if they actually won the Craplantic Division this year??? They are only 1 game out of first right now

If we trade Marshall I'm all for picking up Webber.

Is there anyone more fun to watch at the end of a big game?

That would be sweet if the Pistons overpay to have him suck in big games and then get hurt.

Webber will take the minimum, no one is going to overpay for him.

I doubt he will really sign for the minimum. With Isiah lurking out there with no regard for the luxury tax, CWebb can use them as his bargaining chip with other teams. He may end up making more than the $40 mill he was scheduled to make over the next two years after the Sixers settlement and his new contract. What a joke.

Miami has major depth issues even when Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade are healthy and pursued Webber's former Michigan teammate Jalen Rose when Rose was bought out by New York in November. The Heat, possessing their full mid-level salary-cap exception worth in excess of $5 million, also have the ability to outbid any of the aforementioned suitors, although Miami will stray into luxury-tax territory if it spends, say, $2 million to bring Webber in for the rest of the season.

The Pistons, sources said, immediately thrust themselves into the running, intrigued by the idea of adding the local legend as they continue to revamp their front line in the wake of Ben Wallace's free-agent defection to Chicago.

Chief, teams have to be under the cap or not have used their MLE to sign him to anything more then the Bi-annual exception or minimum salary and thats roughly 1 million for the minimum salary and 2 million for the bi-annual.

I don't have everyone's exception use in front of me but I'm going to assume that Detroit is over the cap and used their MLE on Nazr and their Bi-annual on Flip or Dupree. The best they can offer is the Minimum.

New York signed Jeffries with their MLE and are wayyyy over the cap.

Spurs signed Butler using half their MLE and are over the cap.

No team currently under the cap will sign him and no team that can use his services will pay him more then the minimum or the 2 million for the bi-annual exception.
