Class project: Something that needs to be invented

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I believe there is already relational GPS. I don't believe the public has it, yet. I was looking at a Coast Guard boat and I know that they have a unit (can't remember the name) that takes GPS signals and plots them on a map so they could see other small boats in the river. It's pretty new and not even all of the Coast Guard boats have it installed, IIRC.

I wasn't saying like that. You can map a boat in the water and give its approximate location via GPS. That is fine but why not go the extra step and put a proximity locator in there as well. So not only can you tell where something is on a map but how close you are to it and where it is (east west north south in front behind left or right) and the distance to that object?

So in essence you would use the GPS to map the objects (like the coast guard is doing) then put a proximity locator that uses the same GPS satellite and a differeing receiver to tell you the exact location of an object with in your current location.

I already have this homemade, but a heated toilet seat. Also add a lift to it for moving up and down robotically (don't have this).
