Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Peterman's processing speed is phenomenal. He's got an ok arm and decent mobility. Wouldn't be surprised to see him jumpstart that offense at least in the short term.

His numbers on throwing the deep ball for Pitt were the best in his draft class. He's a true pocket passer, and Buffalo may benefit from the dramatic change in how the offense functions.

Sign Cousins and build up the team around him with those first 4 picks.

Sign Tyrod or Bradford and take a QB with their first pick.

Don't sign a FA, let Kizer and the rook you took with your first pick compete and go from there.

Those are the options I'm loving in order of my preference.

Agreed, but I don't think Cousins is touching Cleveland with a ten foot pole. I think he'd take (slightly) less money to be the starter in Denver or Jacksonville before he'd come here.

Plus I still think Washington is going to pony up the money for him when it's all said and done.

Washington may be willing to pony up the Money, but it’s easy to tell Cousins does not want to play in Washington. I am almost tempted to say he may end up in Jacksonville even if the pay is less. That could be a really nice situation to head into for him.

Either way getting a stopgap (Aka McCarron or a veteran like Alex Smith) then drafting another kid to go along side Kizer to develop for a few seasons I think is the smart way to go. We need to get someone in at QB that knows what he is doing.

Also I don’t think I was wrong so saying we needed to go get McCarron. We could have won a few games this season with a competent QB and I am sure he would have done far better than Kizer even if he doesn’t have the arm talents

In my opinion... if the Browns determine there is a quarterback worth picking No. 1 overall, then whoever that player is should get every single first team rep from day 1 and be the unquestioned starter.

No controversy. No competition. Find a guy and play him right away. Address the QB room as a whole by bringing on a veteran who can show the rookie the ropes in the film room, on the practice field and also start if the rookie gets hurt. But that guy is the backup.

Just sign the best available free agent QB that actually knows how to play the position. Then draft Rosen #1. As for Kizer, I just don't care any more what we do with him. Maybe he can hang on as a 3rd stringer, maybe not. He's like 2 years away, if he ever makes it at all.

Yeah, I'll second this. We simply need to go all in on a legit #1 QB. Whether that guy is Rosen or Mayfield, I don't know.

Getting so tiresome wasting draft picks on guys like him and Kessler.

They aren't first rounders, sure, but you can't tell me a team as bad as we've been can continue taking fliers on guys, just because we are so desperate for QB play in Cleveland.

Just tired of them wasting picks period, especially on a position they can't come anywhere close to getting correct.

These same idiots just tried to trade a 2nd & 3rd rounder for a garbage backup QB too

We had our best offenses over the last few years when guys like Hoyer and McCown were starting games. I think it’s time we started a veteran and stop playin rookies right away hence why in some ways I don’t want a QB number one. We need to sign a guy the QBs can learn from and then let them play since it doesn’t seem like it’s working. True we haven’t drafted a QB number one but that’s the question mark since drafting a QB one doesn’t even mean we will get the player we need or that any QB is ready to start right away

He’s better than who we have at the moment and you cannot deny that one. He actually will be a solid NFL QB though he may end up more of a Stanton or McCown that can play, but not a franchise guy. I’d take either of those QBs right now since they are at least competent
