Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The problem is those organizations where in a different year of the rebuild, Bears are in year one, while we are going into year 3. They have to win games next season and the best probability won’t be with a rookie who doesn’t know the offense, but with a veteran and trust me the media in Cleveland is much worse towards their teams than those cities are. I would put money on it that if we draft a QB it’s the FO picking him and not Hue if McCarron is on the roster.

Fine by me. I don't care who pulls the trigger. Whether it's FO driven or Hue driven, just take the QB #1. Preferably Rosen if you ask me.

The AFC North looks pretty pathetic outside of the Steelers. Even they have major questions about Big Ben retiring, their shitty secondary, and Bell possibly moving on. The Browns draft Rosen, use their draft ammunition to move up to take James or Fitzpatrick, then address playmakers and depth with the rest of the picks. They'll dominate the division while all three teams are rebuilding.

It's not always this black and white. They may to choose to go a different route. Just start by fixing the positions that has plagued the Browns for 20 years. Pick Rosen.

LeVeon Bell isn't going to be playing for PIT next year.

People forget that Tyrod Taylor is only 28 years old.

I really like this guy.

Not to mention, on the Browns, our pass-catching corps (Coleman, Gordon, Njoku, DeValve, Duke, 2018 draft pick) and offensive line would actually represent massive improvements on what he’s succeeded with in Buffalo the past 3 seasons.

You can’t say that about a lot of guys.

He’s consistent, he’s cheap, and he’s available.

He just feels like a Brown. Constantly counted out and overlooked.

BOOK IT

For those on the fence, Bernie Kosar and Tyrod Taylor both have the same number of letters and syllables in their names.

SCIENCE

We also have his former QB coach David Lee.

But what makes AJ McCaron a veteran who can win games? The only thing we have to go off of is Hue Jackson's word and like I said before that about all you need to know.

Well Hue Jackson is the head coach, who worked with the guy when he came into the league and played as many snaps if not more than Grappolo in the NFL. He’s 28, won in college (though on good teams) and was considered an elite IQ QB in the draft. They just questioned other parts of his game (aka arm strength). Jackson’s offense seems to run best with an IQ type of QB, not a gunslinger or strong arm QB so in a sense McCarron actually may be the best fit for the QB position and better than anyone in the draft anyways. If Hue is here then he is going to want his guy who will be McCarron not Rosen, Jackson, Mayfield etc

Except the Bills look like they got a starter in the secondary guy (Tre'davious White) they picked, while we decided to make Jabril Peppers into the angel of the defense when he wants to play like the devil.

Peppers might look better if the Browns actually used him properly. They're basically asking him to do something he's not good at, and it's playing out about how you'd expect it to.

And we also got Njoku in the first, so even if Peppers busts, two out of three ain't bad.

What are we going to do if Kizer plays as well and even better than he did against CIN for the remainder of the games? Am I the only one who's gonna have to go back to the drawing board? He's still the youngest starter in the league.
Kizer would really need to light it up for the rest of the season for us to pass on using a top pick on Rozen. IF (and only if) Kizer does light it up enough to actually get 2 to 4 wins, fuck up the tank, and knock the Browns out of the top slot, then that would make for a pretty interesting decision come draft day.

Even if he lights it up, I think you still take a QB (probably Rosen) first overall and just go into next season with Kizer as the starter. Drafting a QB first overall does not mean you have to start him immediately. I just don't think that Kizer has done enough this season to not draft a QB at number one, even if he does finish the season strong.

.
I agree. I think we're so conditioned to look towards the next draft for an Andrew Luck prospect that we're neglecting to see Kizer improve week-to-week. You obviously cannot stymie your evaluation of QB prospects because he's improving, but I'm not so sure Kizer is hot garbage yet. He may be able to win in a 2nd season; I've been impressed with how he's handled himself in the circus around him.
