I guess the new thing is to use your closer in a tie game? Pathetic. Easily predicted. I think we just wanted the game over with.
Truly pathetic.
:chuckles:
Um... this isn't a new thing at all. It's not done as often on the road, but almost every MLB team uses their closer in the 9th inning in a tie game at home every time that situation arises.

But that's my point. You should be saving your closer for when we go ahead in the top of the inning to save in the bottom when away. What did you think I meant?
Actually, I can't remember a game in the 9th or 10th playing away where the closer was used in a tie game. Find one if you can.
As we clearly seen and have seen a number of times, Perez cannot pitch in a tie game. Why do it then? Why not save him to be what he is? Maybe a closer or something.

This was your exact quote:
You didn't specify that you were talking about road games. And you're still not specifically talking just about road games based on the lines in your latest post that I bolded.
It's used as a way to keep the closer fresh in between save situations.
If Acta were to never use Perez in a tie game at home the way he has, you'd be the 1st to bitch when he blows his next save because he hasn't pitched in over a week..
I swear; some are just going to argue with me for the sake of arguing.
I take message boards seriously, and I hate when I see people like you trailer trashing it up.
