You know, Mike Brown takes a lot of flak for his real lack of a sold offensive playbook, but I think he deserves more credit than many give him. I don't think we should replace him; however, someone should be paid to come in and assist. Someone who at least has a fundamental understanding of basketball beyond playing on the other side of the court.

So no. Mike Brown stays. But yes, bring someone else in to assist. Or maybe pay for some consulting hours from a Western Conference head coach or an NCAA coach.

I really like the offense that Memphis Tigers play. It would get our athletic team out on the break, and with Browns D it would help keep us in games.

I doubt Mike Brown would accept being an assistant with us, after he would be fired from head coach. I think he'd look elsewhere.

Coach K could be the assistant then I don't care we just need an offensive system.

i always thought hiring the rookie mike brown was a poor business move for gilbert and i was upset at the time and each season i have become upset at mb more often than should happen

i dont see any changes being made....yes mb is a decent coach but he only has one dimension ..

not accepting an assistant is a hard headed MAjOR mistake in judgment

nvm nothing to see here

the prob with brown hiring an assistant coach is that he just wont do it. he had the chance last year and he chose not 2. so until hes no longer the coach of this team i think were gonna see the same stuff from him, or rather NOT see. and i hope im wrong btw, rather b wrong and them winning than correct and in the gutter.

Yeah -- what a bad move -- this MB team has been so unsuccessful. Especially since nearly everyone agrees that defense is the key to postseason succsess. :stick:

You can't build a championship team overnight -- with or without LBJ. And MB deserves some serious credit for creating a team that is known for defense AND rebounding -- there's nothing one dimensional about that. Oh yeah -- the last time I checked my list of B-Ball fundamentals -- rebounding is key to success on the offensive side of the floor as well. Everyone is so worried about our offense -- sure it would be nice to see something besides 1 on 5 -- but I'm not sure we really had too many other options prior to last year's trade. We'll see what MO brings to the table, but this team has progressed nicely. MB has done a top notch job.

I would want Mike Brown as head coach and Coach K as the assitant. That would be deadly

Every year the Cavs expectations grow and so do the expectations for Mike Brown. I honestly thought that if we didn't get to a game 7 with Boston Brown would've gotten canned. Winning coaches still sweat the playoffs; look at Flip from Detroit and his six straight ECF appearences, and every year the city calling for his head. This year we have the tools (or will be getting them), so there is a lot of pressure on Coach Brown. An early exit in the playoffs could lead to his termination.

As for Coach K, of course I'd like him on our side; but we all know he'd never leave Duke. But there is that Avery Johnson guy still looking for work...

Despite his lack of offensive strategy, Mike Brown is a damn good coach. He's been a head coach for what, 4 years and already has a finals appearance with nothing but LBJ and 11 role 10 role players and an inconsistent and often injured Larry Hughes? Give the man credit, he knows defense, just look at how he defended Boston's "big 3" forcing their role players (guys like Cassell, Rondo, and PJ Brown) to step up and beat us. Give him some time, he'll get a good offensive scheme figured out and we'll be a contender for years to come.
