What is going on with the new coach? If my perception is correct, then he asked to see pictures of people's families or something during 1:1 meetings with players. Is this right?

How shitty of an org is the Columbus Blue Jackets? Are they the worst in all of sports as far as actual accomplishments? Is their best moment of existence winning a first-round playoff series 4-0?

One day until Opening Night!

Patrik Laine will be starting at center.
Werenski has returned along with the million others who were out long term last season.
Provorov and Severson will help our defense and puck movement immensely from what it has been in years past.
Season will largely hinge on if Elvis develops/returns to a starting level netminder... we should score plenty, but can we stop anyone?
 
Currently a .500 club after responding well to a bag skate this week after getting bonked 4-0 at home against Detroit in an abysmal outing.
Werenski is back after being hit knee to knee.

I don't know how they can let Jiricek go back to the AHL he plays like he belongs... but the team rn has an abundance of guys only suitable for 3rd line defensive pairings. Peeke, Guddy, Bean, Boqvist are all taking up roster slots and Blankenburg in Cleveland if needed too. That's a gluttony, they have already had to put both Foudy and Robinson on waivers due to this logjam. Something should shake out here prior to Thanksgiving as Chinakov will also return at some stage, likely after a rehab stint with the Monsters.

Spencer Martin has played admirably when called upon to see time in net so far.
CBJ play this evening at the 2-2 Minnesota Wild, where Elvis should be starting betwixt the pipes for 2nd night of B2B after recovering from his illness.

Will post in here at times as the year goes on, but beyond those few CBJ fan sites online & Cols Dispatch, /r/bluejackets is a decent way to keep tabs on the squad for updates hot takes and overall tomfoolery.

Kent Johnson potted one for the CBJ, his first goal thus far 5 games into the young year... & Adam Fantilli nets his first career goal for Columbus! Ya got a hell of a future here forthcoming kid, hella glad to have ya on our side number 11!
 

Context: Nationwide Arena and area around North Market in Columbus was without power for a long stretch of the afternoon and it was just now restored

Game was delayed 2 hours. At least we still get into the all 32 team mix!

The accident with Adam Johnson is a heartbreaking occurrence.
Incredibly physical sport played atop a rock hard sheet of ice played with blades tied to feet, so there's always a risk of the unforeseen tragedy, sadly.

Was a marquee matchup prior to turkey day down in C'bus as two of top three picks of this summer's draft took to the ice. Both had their share massively skilled moves & memorable moments on the ice!
