He is no longer just cocky, now he's flat out delusional! Someone needs to tell him that it's only the Top 8 shooters that go....not the Top 112.

From the PD
All-Star dreams:

Cavs guard Damon Jones has hopes of participating in the 3-point shootout during All-Star weekend in Houston.

Jones attended the University of Houston and was born in nearby Galveston. Last year, Jones was shooting over 40 percent and he was not invited to participate. This year he's shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc. Jones said he still deserves an invitation.

"Of course I should," Jones said. "I should've been there last year and I wasn't for whatever reason. . . . All good shooters come out of slumps. You want to put the best 3-point shooters in the contest and I'm still the best 3-point shooter in the world, period. If I'm selected, I'll win it."
:weirdo:

this sounds like damon has a sports pyschology coach that is telling him that the best way to succeed is to always envision success and never accept that any failure is your fault - instead blame it on the refs, the weather, slumps - all things out of yoiur control. this is a common preparation technique used by people in every sport.

one problem is that you do sound rediculous (in denial, paranoid, egomaniacal, overconfident) if you share your "vision" with others.

i like that damon jones is a good guy... and i think he would win it to...

I feel that he should enter the 3 point contest. Mabye he can break his slump there.

Damon has finally gone over the edge. They should bring him to the Q in a straightjacket riding a dolly like Hannible Leckter.

give dj the invite to the all star 3 point shootout :king:

Wow...just...wow...

Well at least the man still believes in himself. He isn't feeling sorry for himself for playing so poorly.

Damon Jones is actually a terrific shooter inside the arc. When he runs off screens and pulls up a 15-18 footer, its money all day. When someone penetrates to the hoop with time winding down then passes it to him, thats when the bricks come out.

I think some shooting PLAYS need to be ran for Damon Jones. Sure, he gets wide open 3's all the time, but we can use much more then his 3 point shooting. His shooting overall is pretty much golden, and Mike Brown needs to take advantage of that.

jones been playing well since being taken out of the starting lineup, he should get invited...

He's 112th in the league in 3 point %. He's only shooting 36%.....there's 30 guys in the league that shoot over 40%, why would Damon deserve to go ahead of any of them? Fans deserve to see the best shooters in the league this year....not the 112th best 3-shooter in the league who had a good year last year.

Last night, Lebron should have been sitting down and Damon Jones and Luke Jackson should have been given all the free shots they wanted to try to get something rolling.

But for whatever reason, Lebron stayed in there so he could rack up his meaningless points.

People that cry about his playing time should have been out raged.

I agree. The game was already well in hand. Why risk injury to your franchise player who was a game time decision to begin with.Give the other young players a chance to work on their games.

IMO, he should get invited so he could back up his talk.
