Dan G does not own RCF.

Everyone used to post on this forum but then they started this new thing where if you donated you would gain access to a hidden forum.

So many people donated that now it seems they all post there. And because that once hidden forum is no longer very exclusive they’ve added another hidden section haha.

If the Cavs were the team in Detroit and LeBron had been born in Detroit, do you guys think Dan Gilbert would let LeBron walk away?

Hell Nooo !! Gilbert just using this city as his cash cow . Brillant to build a casino right next door to his sport hobby , he didn’t pay for anything. It was all Cleveland gamblers money used .

LeBron didn't have to deal with Wade, Bosh going down during his first finals apperance.

Miami also didn't have to deal with a team that was the Durant/Warriors combo.

Not sure why you're responding to me? It should be the guy I was responding too? Correct? He was blaming Dan Gilbert. I had asked him if he's been living under a rock. DG has spent the money. LBJ is the one that strapped this team with this shitty contracts for both JR and TT. If you disagree with that, ask any other NBA team if they're in the market for either TT or JR. Well I would hope you have the answer to that one? So not the best moves he's made for this team.

Hello, I'm one of the people who runs the site. I'm kind of a big deal. I once interviewed Pat O'Brien about the NBA before it left for ABC. I've been writing about the Cavs before a third of you were born.

This post contains information that is unequivocally untrue. There is no secret area to post. There is a separate paid area, but no secret area. It is due to truly bad posting in the unpaid area that members tend to leave this section alone. I'm not one of those people. I usually post in the unpaid area, but it is because of some overly negative and untrue takes that most of the better posters would rather not interact here.

So the forum discussion is as good as you make it, gentlemen. I have multiple requests to get rid of the worst posters in the unpaid area in order for long time contributors to return. This is your warning before I take action. If you are using the forum for your own therapy by writing crap that is overly negative and flatly untrue, you won't be using RCF much longer. It's a forum, not therapy for whack jobs going through a meltdown.

Sports franchises in the major sports (NBA, NFL, MLB) always sell for WAY more than their "paper" value because they are rarely available (supply and demand). There are WAY more rich people than there are sports franchises for sale.

So, that $300 million valuation is probably based on some multiple of annual revenue. When, in reality, something's value is ONLY what someone else is willing to pay.

I guarantee that Dan could get close to somewhere between $750 million and $1.5 billion for the franchise tomorrow.

Why?

Because. Supply and demand.
 
If Dan Gilbert wanted to keep LeBron, why did he not fire Ty Lue after the Finals and hire the guy LeBron shares an agent with?
