Cool, So did Dan Gilbert set another record for the highest salary cap in minor league hockey history as well?
with all due respect the Monsters are a minor league team with a very small fan base and those of us that no longer live in cle dont watch the games or follow them or frankly care that they exist to be brutally honest. I was downtown last night and not one venue even had the game on, and no one I know who really cares. It is the same as the Gladiators winning it all or the Crunch 25 year ago. A Minor league team is just not even on the same planet a the top 3.CHAMPS!!!
Have to enjoy the good times in life guys. Calder Cup is a historic trophy.
Sure, it was a bigger deal when there were only 8 NHL teams, but still a great win.
Monsters, Stipe....current Champs.
Cavs....current East Champs and still have a shot at the title.
Tribe....first place.
Good time to be a Cle fan.

No major team outside of the cavs has won a playoff game since 2007 so "it is great time to be a cle sports fan is a bit of an over statement for me. San Fran has two teams that are winning titles on a regular basis and a hockey team up the road in the NHL cup.
What did I say that is not true about the Monsters? How many people on RCF care that the monsters won?It has not been fun being a Browns fan for many many years and the tribe has not had post season success for a while. Great they are in first place, but the only team that has been great to be a fan of as a professional cle sports fan has been the cavs the last two years. You must be fun at parties!!!

Again the hockey team is really not something most of us follow and watch. If the tribe makes the post season and makes a run that would be awesome. But, let's see it happen first. I think they have a legitimate shot. As great as it has been for the cavs to make it this far many of us won't totally be happy until we get the o'brrien trophy. Then it will be a "great time to be a cle sports fan" I am ready for one of our teams to be the last one standing. Not watching another team like golden state we hate celebrate. We just have a differnt definition of great.Dude...just stop.
The Indians are in first place.
The Cavs are in the Finals and have won the division and Conference in two straight seasons. They may yet win the championship this year, and even if they don't, they have a 3-5 year window.
Our hockey team won the AHL championship. Sure, it's minor league, but it's still a win. Plus, there are some diehard Monsters fans. Surely we can be happy for them.
The current UFC heavyweight champ is literally a Cleveland firefighter.
The Browns have adopted a new analytics approach and seemingly have a great coaching hire.
Aside from the 90s Indians and 80s Browns, this is the best we have had in decades.
Enjoy the good times man. Life will be more fun.
I'm not gonna put words in his mouth, but I think the point @Mr. Orange is trying to make is if you wait until after a team wins a championship to enjoy that team, you really miss out on a lot.Again the hockey team is really not something most of us follow and watch.
