As I wrote the other night, the Cavs should have bought him out after the trade deadline. Provides nothing now and is actually more of a negative for the team. He should not see any minutes but unfortunately there are no other options on the roster.
I'd rather the Cavs have cut him and brought in a younger G like A. Goudelock or M. Wayns and have them getting these minutes now.

When I was at the Mavs vs. Cavs game, I could actually see when the Mavs were going to go on a run.. and it was any time Gibson came into the game. I groaned every time I saw him exit his cushy spot on the bench.

I still can't see Boobie comparing to D-Fish in Phil's offense, but that's me. I'd rather have Fisher now than him. But Gibson made his money because A. Game 6, we thought he was going to become a star specialist. B. Lebrons buddy, gotta keep him happy and chemistry between them. Overpayed indeed.

He's a goner though and I cannot wait, he 'll get another chance for the minium though somewhere else.

Forget playing for the Cavs, he's playing for a job next year. No one will be willing to offer him anything beyond a 1 year non-guaranteed deal with the way he's been playing. In the last 2 years he's shot 34% while providing below average defense and no ball handling, he's undersized at the position, he doesn't even stretch the floor particularly well, he doesn't bring a good veteran presence since he's never in the damn gym... why would any team want him at this point?

Yea. Cause remember, someone like Jordan Farmar was an important piece to the Lakers run for a couple titles--has more in his game than Boobie-- and is out of the league..

Like I posted in the Heat game thread, I just don't understand how a player regresses this much when he still has practice.

I mean what the hell does he do in practice? Sometimes to calm me down I like to imagine he perfects one rare move in practice and is gonna pull it out when we need it most..

I've hated Boobie for years now. Always had a sneaking suspicion we were keeping him around purely because he played good once. Honestly I'd rather pull someone younger with a possible upside from the D-league then to have to see him run around the court in a Cavs jersey accomplishing nothing every game. Shit is starting to get rediculous.

I don't know what people are expecting out of him at this point. He is fine to come off the bench and shoot 3's. Would fit perfectly in Miami, or on any championship caliber team. To ask him to run the point at this point is just absurd.

I expect a player that just turned 27 years old to be better then that player back when he was 23 or 24 years old. Only, in Daniel's case, he has fallen off from that player. I expect a sharpshooter to still be a sharpshooter. Well, he is having trouble hitting the side of a barn in his recent stint. I expect a PG that was "adequate" at running the point in the past, to still be at that level when trying to run it as a bench player. I think a lot of people forget how many games we won with Mr Gibson forced into a starting role at point while Mr James was still here. Certainly the dynamic was different then. But, he still managed to be effective because he gave effort. Actually gave a shit about the game of basketball when he played. Yes, he's certainly not the greatest PG in the world. But, he was a hell of a lot better then the guy we have now. Maybe he can regain his stroke for a contending team. Maybe he can't. But, the guy we have now is just in collecting a check mode, and has been for quite some time. There is no fire in his game.
