This isn't an accident or luck. We are NOT going to let the Hawks beat us with threes. They just asked LeBon about how the team has disrupted the Hawks' initial actions and forced them into ISO ball which in turn has taken away their ball movement which led to so many of their threes this year, and LeBon laughed as if saying, "I'm not going to tell you our gameplan."

The Cavs have the best three-point defense in the playoffs (29% allowed).

JR is allowing 19% (who the hell saw JR being one of the best if not THE best closeout wing defenders on threes??)

James is allowing 24%
Shump is allowing 26%

Blatt and staff have done a remarkable job establishing a defensive philosophy and then implementing it.

I picked GS to beat us in 7 pre-Love injury. I'm starting to think we have a chance the way we're defending the perimeter even without him.

You're clearly a numbers guy, and most numbers guys are good cap guys also.

Can we sign both Love and TT to max deals? I heard radio guys saying that with way Thompson is playing, if we ship title, we'll have to choose between the two. That felt wrong with us having TT's rights, but couldn't refute it outright as I wasn't sure.

Once again, bravo Coach Blatt. Another excellent gameplan.

Yes, I think it was media critics misinterpreting the tension on the team. Lebron was unhappy but it wasn't because of Blatt. He'd have to be pretty stupid to see Blatt as the main problem on a team with the lineup we had before we traded Dion, and he's not stupid.

As far as I know we can pay our players any amount of money Gilbert wishes. So yes, keep both TT and Love. Keep JR. Keep Shump. Keep Delly. Keep James Jones. Yes. James Jones. The guy is a total Pro. Pro's Pro. A leader. And can shoot. We keep him.

Blatt has been absolutely ELITE these playoffs, I watched the postgame and Lebron was micd up and hugged blatt after saying congrats and happy birthday....this is actually fairly big compared to the recent lack of interactions they seem to have and I think Lebron is starting to see the Blatt is an excellent coach as well. His handling of subs(especially tonight, good lord our bench got a 10 point lead against a top 5 offense's starters" and getting into the heads of every one of his players to be ready is a testament to how good of a coach he is.

Guys -- there was no 'mutiny attempt', can we retire that narrative?

The key to everything was the Griffin trade. It was always a personnel issue, not an issue of either coaching or tension between players and coaches.

There was a mutiny attempt lead by the best player on the team. It was somewhat passive, but it happened.

Accept it.

God knows the media can't accept the fact that it didn't work and they have to be reminded after every game how unqualified they are to make judgements on basketball.

Here's the thing. We have a team that other than LeBron are full of players who are either in their prime or haven't even entered it yet. And we control pretty much all of them (except Love). I have no qualms paying everyone on this roster because with the cap going up and with the age of our guys, they won't be bad contracts. And with our first round draft pick and Haywood's contract we can build depth and get younger. We should look like GS next season going 10 or 11 deep. You don't need to pick or choose when Dan will pay the bills for a winner. He was doing it when we were shuffling bad contracts left and right because we had no flexibility or assets. We've actually for the first time in LeBron's time here got a cast of players that can win for years to come. Let's keep the family together.

And the gameplans from the staff have been phenomenal. Blatt must feel like he's on Maccabi's run from last season. Go back to basics, defense, and rebounding. The system team that is Atlanta clearly is unable to deal with adversity like we are, mostly because they've been praised all season long for every single thing they do. Second game in a row we have more assists than them.

I agree. I just wasn't sure it was allowed by the league with all these players to go that far over the cap. Lebron and coaching staff making a whole bunch of guys really valuable elevating their games. Hopefully Barkley drops a few million in the pits of the Horseshoe on each Cavs playoff visit.

According to James jones interview, eliminating the Hawks spacing is part of the game plan. It worked two times in a row, which is great. Wondering what do the Cavs do to execute this plan.

As long as they are on the team this year...Dan can pay any amount he so chooses for his roster due to bird right. Paying the two guys the max sounds like financial suicide but if you can do it to Love and TT before the cap goes up.....you have a dynasty. Example, Loves max would be 30% of 89 mil (projected), and TT would be 25%. If you can lock up one or both now before the jump in 2016 (expected 100 mil), then that's a smaller fraction of the cap in the future. I can see TT taking a max under this cba, but Love will wait....unless this injury has him more concerned about locking up long term financial stability.

Holy hell. I said max contract and TT in the same sentence....and I don't feel bad about it. What he brings is a complete difference maker. He is what is conducive to winning. Max players aren't superstars any more. This is a new era. I still hold out hope he gets less but that snake Rich Paul may pull a Bledsoe type situation on him. Right now he is earning a paycheck and I don't expect him to let up once he's paid.

No, because it absolutely did happen by some players.

It's just the FO and Owner didn't cave.

I was heartbroken about grants dismissal and unfairly judged Griffin negatively subsequently.

This dude deserves so much credit.probably as much as LeBron.

He put the hammer down on blatts job publicly.

Oh yea and he turned a 9 per, never gonna get another contract dude into a guy that hits 6 3pters a game consistently, arguably the best wing defender in the league and a ten foot tall robot
