its hard for me to see blatt continue coaching lebron next year.... this is not to say we will not see him head coaching another NBA team in need of a fresh start. hell, if anything at least he has proven he can do just that.
If Windy and Bucher had sex and made a baby and that baby had sex with Skip Bayless and Stephen A.'s baby...

The end result would be you.

I'd actually laugh and have much respect for him for having stones the size of the Grand Canyon for doing that. My God, that would be something to see. But it won't happen and I'm more than ok w/ that.

I think Blatt coaches until he's 60 then walks away, maybe a bit earlier, though. It's Ty Lue's gig eventually and he most likely knows it.

Just spitballin' here, so don't bust my balls....

Blatt said last night in his presser that while LBJ came back home to win his title, Blatt himself left home to come here, to try to accomplish something he'd never done.

Suppose the Cavs win the whole thing.

What if Coach Blatt then does the "drops mic" routine, by saying he's accomplished what he set out to do, and is going to go home to his wife and daughters, and leave the team in the very capable hands of Tyronne Lue?

What a damn story that would be....

please elaborate.
well, obviously no matter what accomplishment blatt achieves with the CAVS it will be accredited to lebron .
i am sure every rookie coach would be thrilled to bask in the shadow of the greatest player alive
but every one seem to overlook the fact that though blatt was new to the NBA a year ago , he was already a seasoned coach in Europe , and had already countless notches in his belt.
if you look at his career record you can see that blatt played second fiddle to no one, though the past year was the best schooling in NBA 101 one could ask for.
the NBA has taken notice on the coach who out-coached many, and to his impossible position, from here it is easy to see how both lebron and blatt would prefer him move to new and beter grounds.

I really just think he was trying to make a point about the sacrifice he made and it all being worth it with them getting to this point. I would be shocked if he were to walk away after all the bullshit he had to put up with this year.

Welcome to the forum, Ric!
do not get me wrong here guys, i am all for blatt . !!
is my assumption that far fetched ?.
do you really think a coach at his level will be content in this post ?
do you think lebron has a room for a coach like blatt ?
do you think owners around the NBA do not see that ?
do you think david blatt came here for the ride ?
well, i think he came to make a difference , and i do not see this happening with lebron casting his (well deserved ) shadow on him.

LeBron supposedly wanted Spoelstra gone early in the 2010-11 season. It happens. But what was going on early in the season is long gone now. We all saw "the hug" last night at the end of the game.

So halrook, your basic assumption is that Blatt wants out because of all the crap he has to put up with and because he doesn't want to be seen inferior to Lebron?

That's certainly a new angle, but it's hard to buy into that. He seem like the type of guy that wants to win, first and foremost. That's something he can do with the Cavs, no question.

By the way, i'm not sure it's possible to bask in a shadow.

Isn't this media-driven angle dead yet? Both LBJ and Blatt have egos...deservedly so. What better way to solidify those egos by dominating the NBA landscape for the next 5-7 years?
