He just made the Pro Bowl
So they technically aren't out if the playoff race. Just sayingDon’t need him.
Out of playoff race, playing the Bengals.
He’s a fun toy. But they’re counting concussions these days. No good reason to fuck up one of your best player‘s careers during a meaningless game.

Yes they will.Three teams wont tie.
I think this is spinYeah, one does not simply rush a star back from the concussion protocol to face Hue Jackson and the Bengals.

There’s reason for concern. If he isn’t being cleared he isn’t coming close to his baseline results from his tests. That’s... not good
Neither of us are doctors. I’m just observing that this is an above average length of time to miss for a concussion. We appreciate your expertise and personal bedside manner in the diagnosis, Dr. Moz.
Concussion Protocol also requires that he gets cleared by independent neurologists.Neither of us are doctors. I’m just observing that this is an above average length of time to miss for a concussion.
I highly doubt they would hold Ward out if he wasn’t still concussed.
As for if they are holding him out to ensure he doesn’t get another concussion because we are out of the playoffs... I just don’t find that likely. As far as I know there’s a pretty fine line for concussion protocol. You pass it or you don’t. If that’s not correct I’d be interested in someone saying more about the process.

This is the correct take. Even if Pitt had lost last week, it's still not worth it. Actually, from what we now know about head injuries, it's NEVER worth it to rush someone back. Football is just a game.
Maybe it’s just a game to you and I, but to a NFL player it’s a way of life.
