Is anybody else disappointed with the overall next gen console?

I know I am. They come out with all this hype and their big price tags on the systems and then their price raises on games and what do they give the gamer? Nothing.

These systems are supposed to have all of these new powers but what have they shown thus far? What game has come out since the next gen system has come out that has blown you away? I can't think of one.

This is the third installment of football from EA Sports on the Xbox 360 and so far I have been dejected as of now. With all of the new power the system is supposed to have, you'd think you would be able to notice...but like the difference between regular DVD and HD DVD, the difference is minimal.

So we paid $600 for a system that has enlarged the graphics a bit. But we still get a football game that's idea of snow is making the field completely white with some white dots on the screen. Its like playing on a white surface. Instead of Boise States blue turf, you get white turf and the fans and coaching staff in short sleeve shirts like its 90º out. What happened to the weather making a difference like the preview said. My RB is running a 4.2 40 in 15º weather while snowing...good job using that power of the system. There are no footprints in the snow, something that was available on Metal Gear Solid on the freaking playstation one.

Of the rest of the games I have played on the 360, nothing really stands out. The graphics are more smooth, more detailed. But what is so different in the game play that couldnt have been done on the Xbox and the PS2? We basically paid for an upgrade of a graphics card in your computer is what it comes down too.

When is the next step in game play going to be taken? When are we going to get real life reactions from the systems that are supposed to be next generation?

So far, all we have gotten is shit in a box with a pretty little bow on top of it.

I hope to hell my PS3 is sweet...

If I'm not blown away I'm going to be pretty pissed off. I want to see/experience things that you couldn't on the PS1 PS2's and etc...I don't want slightly better graphics..but I have a feeling that the only new things on the PS3 are the games and that the graphics are marginally better.

First off CDT, not a night goes by that I don't stare at Jessica for long period of time. Thank you for that.

I guess I'm marginally happy with the 360. I enjoy the marketplace and streaming capabilities the most. Watching home movies stored on the PC through an HDTV two floors down is pretty sweet. Demos are great when you not sure what to rent for a long weekend.

Gamewise, I love the hell out of Oblivion. Viva Pinata is addictive as hell and looks absolutely amazing in HD. Gears was pretty sweet as well. I don't play a ton of stuff in the summertime anyway, I'm too busy. When it gets cold, I want a solid football game and maybe one other title to keep me involved for a few months (Oblivion last year). Madden has been blah however, and I hope it make some serious progress this year.

The console in general? Yeah, I'm happy- well worth the $.

EA just doesn't make that good of games, it is as simple as that. They release basically the same game every year with minimal changes no matter what console you have.

If you buy the console mostly for the EA - Madden, NCAA, etc - then you are probably going to be blah about the next gen because they don't really put the effort in IMO...

Im not talking just that game...every game Ive played on 360 has been just so so. They really havent done anything to say hey, this is what the next gen is all about.

My computer looks better than both the PS3 and the 360. With the speed that puters are progressing i don't really see a need for a console. I own them but only because i'm not gonna wait 2 or 3 years to play a game like Halo or GTA. If games came out for both the PC and the console then im sure the consoles would fall by the wayside.

Gears of War for 360 was bad ass. I thought Rainbow Six 3 Vegas was one of the better first person shooters I've played.

Halo 3 is definetly going to be awesome. And Dude I wasn't talking isht about the ps3 like you tried and said I was. I've had all three like I said.

XBOX 360 and PS3 for graphics are equals. It's the library that seperates them and online play. PS3 still has too few games. The only game I liked for PS3 is resistance. I used to love sports games for PS3 and 360, but after awhile every NBA and NFL game is the same, their are certain plays that you can never stop or glitches in the games where people cheat, and that's what makes them suck. The last semi-cool thing in a football game was when 2k invented did the helmet cam for the qb when passing, and it really wasn't even cool, it was more annoying after while.

For overall gameplay the WII is pretty awesome, you wouldn't think so, but it's actually pretty cool. The Wii also doesn't have that many games either though. That's why I sold both Wii and PS3 and still have my 360.

Whoever said their PC blows away xbox and ps3 must not have played a game like Gears of War with an HD connection on a 60 inch 1080p tv. I played GOW through a VGA connection not an HDMI and it still looked awesome. HD gaming on Big screens is bad ass.

Check out a game called Huxley. It's a MMOS massive mutliplayer online shooter. It looked cool awhile ago I have no clue what it looks like or when it will be out though. That's the main thing I hte, the game delays. Huxley was suppose to come out in March and then they push it back 6 months to a year like they always do.

Nope I haven't played in HD yet with my puter.

NOT ME.

I am more than satisfied because my NeXT GeN console is giving me things that my OlD Gen cosoles did not.

No need to be a smart ass, I have a nice computer also, and a 24 inch Dell Ultrasharp monitor. I hate using a mouse and keyboard. I hate assigning the buttons for the gamepad. My computer is nowhere near my TV to hook it up to it. I'd much rather play with a standard game pad (XBOX or PS3) and on a 61" HDTV. I hate my 24 inch monitor for gaming it's too little.

You prefer computers, I say computers suck, and I prefer consoles. I played FEAR for PC and 360. The 360 version to me was better to me. I tried to get the gamepad conifigured the way I wanted it for a few days. I couldn't get used to it, so I just sold it on Ebay a week later.

I was not trying to be a smart ass. I was kind of agreeing with you. I have not played any of my computer games nor have i seen them played in HD. I have however seen games from the console played in HD and to me the puter games are right on par if not better in most cases. So until i have my rig setup to play in HD i really can't say that the PC blows consoles out of the water. What i am saying is that based upon how games look now with a middle of the road system compared to the supposed next gen consoles one can only expect for the PC to look better than the consoles in HD. Plus with a PC game there hasn't been any mark ups to 70 bucks a game. So what I'm getting at is PC games will give you more bang for your buck with regardless what setup you have.
