Donatas Motiejunas (D-Mo)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've wanted Donatas for a long time...i'd weep if we got him. @RchfldCavRaised probably would too. :chuckle:

InBoobieWeTrust might start posting again... he had a Montiejunas avatar for almost a year.

Here is a great example of a 7 footer who improved over time. Two years ago, defense was a weakness. I've only seen one Houston game this season, but he didn't look like a liability anymore.

DMo becoming one of the better rim protectors in the NBA. Is an all around baller too. Would really fit Blatt's system.

Would love to parlay Waiters into DMo and Wes Johnson. The Lakers and Byron Scott want Waiters but unfortunately their roster is just so piss poor to accommodate 3 way deal with Houston.

Lots of people liked donantas coming out of the draft. He had a few question marks regarding his maturity and physicality if I remember but he seems to have answered them loud and clear.

I maintain not picking up Dieng was a huge mistake. I looked back of my posting from the draft thread that year (which were basically screeds asking us to draft a C particularly with the second pick) and my opinion today is the same so I can't be accused of suffering from hindsight bias with this one. While I like Tyler: he projected to be more of a backup C who could play some PF against the right lineup. We needed a true defensive big who could protect the rim and we already knew Zeller was going to be that and TT was shotblocking was regressing. I hope no one thought Bennett was going to be a defensive force. AV was AV but he is old and injury prone and if one thought Bennett was going to be a star: you definitely want a defensive big next to him to cover him on defense (very similar to what we're seeing with Love)

On the wing we had just drafted Dion the year before and also picked up Jack in FA so the need to draft SG/SF was less.

Finally, on a side note, the TT vs JV debate is closer to being done IMO then what you're making it out to be. JV this year after a few subpar games still has a PER close to 20. Young centers with PER's of 20 and who aren't complete boneheads like Drummond are more valuable then backup PF's with no range

Were you clamoring for a center in general or Dieng in particular? Plus, I thought the Karasev pick was widely praised.

As a Lithuanian, I support this thread.

Do it. Send em Dion. Sign Ray to replace his spot.

Hoist the trophy. Praise Lithuania!

They're 8-2 with him starting since Dwight got hurt. His price tag is climbing rapidly. :(

He is a better scorer than Dwight :)
He looks like a good kid with a work ethic.. I wouldn't mind trading him for dion straight up

Since the Cavaliers started making their move out of asset accumulation and into trades to win in the short term, every single trade partner has been a rebuilding team. Even the trades with Memphis and Chicago over a year ago were teams who needed financial relief. Our last few trade partners have been Philly, Minnesota, Charlotte, Boston, Brooklyn, and Utah.

Houston is trying to win a championship in the same window as the Cavaliers. That makes them very difficult trade partners. Both GMs want the same things right now.

Oh yea that dream is dead. We've got nothing for a team in their position to get him out of Houston.
