Browns | Team interested in Russell?
Sun, 11 Feb 2007 06:15:07 -0800

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner reportedly told a local television station that he would like to select LSU QB JaMarcus Russell with the team's No. 1 pick in April's NFL Draft.

All per kffl.com

Not surprising regarding Baxter... The guy will never make a comeback and if he does, he'd be an average backup safety... It's not worth wasting the money or trouble for him... Although I do feel pretty bad for the guy...

I'd take a look at a Pro-Bowl CB like O'Neal... Although his arrests and age aren't good...

Holcomb getting cut is a surprise to me...

Gee Lerner, could you be any stupider?

Nate Clements cough...former Buckeye cough..won't be back with the Bills..expressed interest in returning...g/f lives in Cleveland (per A-Mac)

:)

Lookey what cdt stumbled upon on nfl.com

Clements Testing Free Agency

Then on the same line "Browns finalize coaching staff" Coincidence? I think not..

LaVar Arrington just got released by the Giants, what are the odds the Browns pick up Courtney Browns former running mate?

No thanks on Arrington. The guy was healthy for six games for the Giants after signing that huge contract.

About as good as you buying season tickets for the Redskins in 07-08..

I mean, he is good when he wants to be and when he is healthy, im sure someone who needs help would be willing to take him.

We got more linebackers than we can shake a stick at.

4 starting LB possitions. 6 "good to great" LBs. 2 backups that could start.

I'm more excited about Leon.

We don't need Arrington and the headache call "The Postons".

We have 6 good to great LBs? No..

WIllie is old and slow, Wimbley is gonna be great, Leon Williams might be good, Andra Davis is average.

So we have a formidable LB core. I don't mind what we have, I like all the players we got. Lavarr is old news now.

Arrington basically signed a 1 year 6 million dollar deal with the Giants last season. That 7/49 sounds like it's some awesome contract, but in reality he had to play like an elite superstar to get to that incentive level.

Yeah I guess it doesn't hurt the Giants that much since he was only set to make $900K this year. NFL contracts are strange...

or just be overhyped in the Redskins system, where they pay anyone who had a good year a 4 year $30 million contract. and system that almost never utilized his talent and overlooked his potential on defense.

At one point in time Lavar Arrington could cover the 2nd level of the field like a defensive back and hit like a mack truck. He was that unreal. Obviously injuries and aging have taken that away.

Dude was unreal in his young days....there was nothing system about his talents.
