Draft Strategy

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Nah, he won't fit our system, and on top of that he's not built the right way to play DT in a 4/3, or 3/4. And running by sketchy tackles in the senior bowl at DE doesn't exactly impress me. These guys who have the great potential, but didn't do a ton during actual games worry me.

My idea for a trade.

Browns send 1(3 or 4...works more if they draft #3) plus their 4th rounder

Falcons send 1(10) and Matt Schaub.

Thoughts? Falcons get Calvin Johnson most likely, Browns save money on their pick, move to 10th and get someone like Adam Carriker or Levi Brown. Plus pick up a starting QB.

I'd press the "Do It" button immediately..

Schaub has an absolute cannon for an arm and he isn't a bad decision maker..it's always nice to have a 136 million dollar QB in front of you and the front office laughs at teams offering a 2nd Rounder for you ;)

It's a pipe dream though..

We're going into 08 with Frye Anderson and likely a vet on the verge of osteoperosis..

Brad Johnson Kerry Collins Jeff "****ing" George...dare I say the unflushable turd that is Vinny Testaverde? :thumbdown

The problem is he'll be playing behind that horror show we call an offensive line. So he too will be running for his life and trying to make things happen under pressure. I'm 100% for bringing in a vet at QB as long as we can still address the O-line concerns in the draft too. Until then anyone back there will just be playing the role of tackling dummy and pumping up the stats of defenders throughout the league.

I highly doubt the falcons give up Schaub...

No way in hell. They have no idea who will be the QB in ATL come week #3 of next year. They may tell you it's Vick, but that front office has no clue. If it hits the fan early next year for him, they will need the depth and I don't see them dealing that away considering their situation.

Vick is untradeable/unreleaseable for the next 2 seasons, if the Falcons want to comply with the league salary cap. He's going to be their starter by default.

Be prepared for David Carr in Cleveland, at least thats what the Lions scout over on realgm is telling us. He said that the same guy that let him know about Bentley coming to the Browns weeks before it actually happened told him that the Browns and Texans are pretty far along in trade talks concerning Carr and at the price that most of us will be very happy. Once again take it with a grain of salt, but I figured you all would like to know what the inside buzz is. At least Carr is used to playing behind horrible offensive lines and running for his life.

A seventh-rounder? :chuckles:

Isn't it great to be a Browns fan?

The more I think of this draft the more I want Peterson.

We passed up on LT for freaking gerrard warren. :puke:

I wouldnt pay more than a conditional 5th rounder for Carr.
