This pick along with adding Harris may be a sign that the team is looking to make one of those 3 for 1 type deals to get a big vet upgrade and wanted to reload the bench.

I remember when rooting for Dayton in their big March Madness run, they faced off against Stanford, and eventually went on to win.

But all I remember was Powell was CARRYING Stanford for most of the game.

3 more rookies and a guy who might be retiring at the end of the year. Something has to be in the works.

Unless it is part of a package for a superior asset I hope Zeller isn't gone. We have him cheap for two years and last year he was playing decent relative to where he was drafted.

It's possible Hawes will cost too much money to retain if we're planning on pursuing multiple high-level FAs. I basically view Powell as an insurance big for that instance.

Powell is pretty good and a good fit for what Blatt wants to do. I was surprised he didn't get picked earlier. I am very happy with this draft.

If Powell replicated his Junior year he would have been a 1st rounder easily. Probably before McGary.

Wonder why he took such a step back this year.
