ECF: Cavs 4 - Hawks 0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Finally, I will say that if the Cavs lost a player like Sefalosha (a guy playing 18.8M/game, even if his role would have been less in the playoffs), RCF would be in meltdown mode until seeing the Cavs take the court in Playoff Game 1. The Rant thread would be at the top of the charts. It's a big deal, whether it solidifies/focuses the Hawks or whether it highlights a lack of playoff depth/flexibility. We'll have to see.

And rightfully so; considering the sad shape of the end of our roster.

Hawks on the other hand, are one of those "deep teams", but even they will feel it in the playoffs.

found this post on another forum regarding sefolosha + antic, quite true:

"Was wondering when the other shoe would drop to derail the Hawks' playoff chances. Didn't really imagine the season-ending injury would happen like this.

It is beyond stupid, though their efficiency and dedication to go clubbing was actually really impressive. They had a game in ATL that finished around 10-10:15. I'd assume their flight leaves around 12 at the earliest from ATL to NY. They arrive in NY around 2:15 in the morning, get their luggage, absolutely haul ass from Long Island to Chelsea (checking into their hotel somewhere along the route as well) to go clubbing no earlier than 3-3:15 in the morning. They obviously pound shots like there is no tomorrow, so they can get trashed to the point of resisting arrest and obstructing a stabbing scene at 4 AM, a week before the playoffs as major contenders. Oh, and they played the Nets the next day, which was a very important game to the franchise (the Hawks swap picks with the Nets, so desperately in their interests to send them to the lottery).

They're being payed millions to at least pretend to act professionally. I don't understand why they couldn't just wait until AFTER the Nets game to go clubbing and get tanked, when they would have pretty much a full night ahead, with no game the next day. I mean, are you seriously that impatient??"

You couldn't make this stuff up. I'd say there was some nookie involved along the way.

I honestly don't know how comfortable I am with the stars slowly but surely falling perfectly in line for a successful playoffs campaign.

Things are just constantly falling in our favor. Call it the Cleveland-pessimist in me, but the way this season continues to shape up, we couldn't be any better positioned for the 'C' word..

The Hawks are deep, but they don't have any perimeter defenders like Thabo. It's pretty much the same impact as if we lost Shumpert, maybe slightly less but they are not comfortable playing Kent Bazemore extended minutes. If you had to pick a wing to get hurt, it would have been Bazemore or Mack.

That makes the most sense: they were trying to shield their fellow NBA buddy from the press/onlookers and they were so drunk that they ended up getting entangled with the cops

I think this is a huge deal for them. One reason being that Thabo was one guy on that team who had real playoff experience for them. Regardless of him being a role player, he still had been part of meaningful playoff games in his career and they don't have many guys on their team like that. Now add Bazemore who has no experience with it, and will be counted on

You can't make something like that up in all honestly. Quite frankly, i'm glad it wasn't one of our guys for obvious reasons, but it still would be absolutely hilarious to me regardless of who it is.

Wow unbelievable. I wouldn't have thought a guy like Thabo would get into something like that. A broken ankle from it too. Wow

Unequivocally false. Carroll has and is easily their bet perimeter defender.

Agreed, and a big mistake. The cops are the biggest baddest gang in town (until the U.S. Army gets called in). That's their job. You see them, you should start walking the other way. NBA pro, movie star, whatever, they win. Stupid and unprofessional behavior, even though they were trying to protect their NBA brother.

We would school these so bad it's not even funny. 4-1 at worst. But both got to get there first bla bla.
